Foregoing the expense of a runway show, Burrows invited his guests to a Garment District showroom to see his Spring collection. Even if the setting was a little lackluster, the clothes weren't. Exuberant was more like it—from the electric-bright colors (turquoise, royal blue, fuchsia, orange) to the flirty silhouettes. A hot-pink shirtdress with smocking front and back and a hem that barely grazed the model's upper thighs opened the show; closing it was a body-hugging white number that would have said "cha cha cha" even without Anna Cleveland's hip gyrations. In between were a dozen-and-a-half party dresses. A couple of them were encumbered by thick fringes from waist to hem; a few others, with Colorform embroideries, were too playful (read: young). But there were many more, especially the drapey charmeuses in lively confetti prints, that a modern-day clubber—Burrows was a Studio 54 regular, remember—would be thrilled to wear for a night on the town.

It's nice to see someone come back to the fold...after how many years? 30? Wow.
The first outfit is cute, the other needed to be EDITED OUT.

oddly enough, the strongest pieces were those in black and white. his palette overall is too naive, too 70s but the shapes work when not overwhelmed w/ color.

Well, at least no one could accuse it of being bland (unlike most of the, yawnworthy, offerings, so far!) and I like the shirtdress.

The collection reminds me of a combination of 'Abigail's Party' and '80s Zandra Rhodes! :D

I really hate everything. But I'm into neutrals right now, so that could explain part of it.

I was going to say that the last picture in post #5 was ok, but the top doesn't look like it fits right.

At first I was thrilled by the colors, then the texture, but then i noticed the fitting and fabric and now I just think it looks cheap.

The first pink mini-dress with ruffles and mandarin color is nice and the black looks are quite sharp. The reason we think it looks cheap is the fact that he works in jersey and charmeuse those fabrics are big 70's fabrics so we think cheap. His aesthetic seems to be trying to update and be modern. But, sadly it's alot of hit and miss. At least aint boring though. Eh!

many of the shorter dresses are pretty cool the long gowns on the other hand are not so cool
