StyleMint from Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen

Has anyone signed up? I have a JewelMint account and I guess they link them together. I kind of like the concept although I'm not thrilled with the price tag.

im really interested where theyre going to take stylemint. I feel like theyre trying to carve a new niche again with the online world.

Not quite sure where to put my finger.

So much hype over t-shirts? Are you kidding me? Lets see, you can wear it with a skirt or pants. Okay....!

I'm not exactly clear on who the target StyleMint customer is, but I know that I am not at all attracted to these designs. None of the cuts skew as particularly sophisticated or wearable outside of a very casual range of looks. I'm much more a fan of the tees they created for The Row. I understand that these are two totally different price points, but there already seems to be a full market of super-casual tees, and brands like Splendid (IMO) are doing a better job in terms of design. I know there is the added appeal of the Olsens' attachment to the label and the members-only/monthly concept of the site, but I would much rather prefer an affordable alternative to the chic cuts of The Row. Now that is a void that definitely needs filling. (And don't even mention T by Alexander Wang, because those shirts are terribly made...)

^ Idk, at first I didn't care for the t's (especially the ones with the wording) but I have found some I would actually purchase. I think I am gonna go for the year free of shirts though haha Oh and I totally agree about T by A. Wang, I have 2 tops and I never wear them... horribly made and the fabric sucks - starting piling after a couple wears.

i think ive got it figured out.

their target are teenagers who spend a lot of time on the internet. just like opening the tween market the goal is to get the same effect using the growing industry of online shopping.

^ It's possible. I don't think it's just for teens, I've seen older people wearing them. I like some of the shirts cause they are so versatile, but at the same time kind of boring. I guess I am just indifferent to them. It's not enough for me to want to spend $30 - as cheap as that is.

I find it hard to believe that their target would be teens.

^I don't know, the whole thing felt pretty teen-y to me. The website, the videos, the FB pages,

all i can say is that they need some serious help with the styling on that site...
:ninja:...

Is it just me, or do they have a ton of coupon codes/deals?
I guess it just seems like a lot.

Really?:huh: Gosh I don't see it that way but you may be right. I think it's meant to be something fun though.

I think they started out the row with the t-shirt and maybe want to bring it to more people? I don't know. I don't care nor do I expect them to have a motive or a target audience. I think it's good that they are doing this and I hope they continue to expand and maybe add more things like blazers or something.:flower:
