Does anyone have an idea of what would cause swelling and inflamation of your mouth. My lips are swollen. at first I thought they were dry so was using blistex but now they have red patches on the inside. And no I haven put any strange foreign bodies in there  No new foods..... ayeee I'm beginning to look like I've had implants...

Well other than allergies to foods, beauty products or medication, tongue/lip piercings or Std's

swelling could be maybe from something biting you, it could be some type of really bad canker sores that spread like crazy..

other than that im not sure what else..

I hope your mouth sweels down and you get better!!!

Excessive exposure to the sune may cause your lips to burn and swell.

Happened to me once on vacation in St. Topez. I have light plump lips and I forgot to put SPF on them. THey got burnt and really swollen. I looked like a freak and all the beautiful people in St. Tropez were staring at me

Try putting cold cloth on your lips. It will bring down the swelling.

Like CelineChic says, put a cold cloth on it for a few mins. Then coat your lips and surrounding area with aloe, it'll reduce any inflammation and create a protective layer.

I hope you get well soon!! :flower:

So they are inflammed inside of the mouth, too? If they are getting worse, you should go to the doc but if the swelling is going down, I'd just drink alot of water/green tea to help flush your body out.

Allergies are really strange and you can develop them at any time I think. I'm allergic to cats now, which I never was before. I also get tremendous migranes  when expose to certain cleaning chemicals and other smells, including alot of perfumes. The trigger could also be environmental- you could have been exposed to something your body didn't like.

You might want to keep a diary of your food/surroundings if this continues, so you can find out cause- and go to the doc- s/he might refer you to an allergist.

So relax and take it easy- stressin' it could make it worse :flower: :flower:
Feel better :winkiss:

Yeah do the cold moist cloth on it but I recommend chamomile tea instead of dipping it in water...chamomile helps reduce inflammation and is really soothing to irritated things.
