i like juergen's work but this..does not flatter lara in the slightest!!

I think that's the beauty in Lara's ed, that it's not 'flattering' her. It's amazing how we as fashion lovers are desensitize to real women and real life portrayed in pictures... we buy too much into the fantasy that photoshop sold us. I was checking Lara's CK Jeans ads and then this and she hardly look the same, her stomach was so flat and her waist so tiny...
And the way people complaint about Daria's Celine ads... like she looks old and ugly simply because she's wearing minimal makeup and there's hardly any PS involved... I wish more mags and models would have the 'guts' to do more eds like this one.

It's also reminding me of people's reaction to Daria's editorial by Mikael Jansson in Interview. People were calling her haggard left and right when, no... that's now lots of 30 year olds who go in the sun (or whatever) look without makeup and photoshop...

hmm juergen's work is annoying in digital to me- i think his biggest strengths is that his images are raw/untouched BUT the one touched aspect of them is the film grain & soft/specific tonation & feeling that gives- the lara portraits look lazy and at the same time try-hard to me

totally not into it but they'd be better if shot in film
