Queen Isabelle styled by MAS!!!
Like in the Balenciaga years...
I'm in heaven!

A must buy for me. She is so charismatic...A real queen!

She should have guest edited Decembers Vogue Paris. It would have been a lot more timely than that insufferable Lagerfeld and that nobody with him.

A real queen indeed  Amazing cover star & cover. I wish VP would take note. It still baffles me that she never got a french vogue cover...

She, McDean and MAS make a perfect trio. The portraits are so beautiful even though it's a bit funny that Marie Amélie styled her in quite a young version of her. There's a slightly late 70s feeling, like an hommage to her early Claude Chabrol years but it works really well and it's so effortlessly chic.

I'm really glad she's getting all that buzz; I hope she will snatch an Oscar nomination ( at least ) for ELLE because her performance is out of this world.

^^
I would also love for her to have a Vogue Cover. I don't think it could happen...
She is friend with Karl and maybe Chanel can push her (Or Vuitton, thanks to her connection to Ghesquiere).

She is maybe too niche for a magazine like VP. She is very popular but not very "grand public" à la Deneuve, Paradis, Marceau ou Gainsbourg.

I can see why a lot of french actresses don't have any VP cover. At least, they get ELLE.

Bleh. This cover/editorial is a total drag. Really not digging the somber mood, indifferent expression.

Don't get me wrong I love McDean, MAS and Isabelle (ever since I saw her in The Piano Teacher back in the day) but frankly the second I saw these images I had a total throwback moment; The styling, photography makes this look like outtakes from GAP FW 2008 shot by Mikeal Jansson and if I remember correctly styled by none other than MAS?!

And that's not to pooh pooh, malign print advertising photography cuz that in itself is an art, and I loved that Robinson era campaign, but really this a pretty damn dour set of Holiday images! SO yeah perhaps they were going for the anti-thesis of holiday glitz and glam but they failed to do so in a compelling way, that sets this apart within that context.

and If one wants to read up on fashion/home/design trends which having been coming down the pipeline for 3 plus years this is your go to glossy!

I love this! Isabelle is an incredible woman, it indeed is devastating that she hasn't gotten a Vogue Paris cover.

Also I urge everyone to see Elle if you haven't already, she easily prevailed in an extremely complex role.

Oh wow, I've just seen the trailer on Youtube! Riveting! Huppert's ego is quite big, and I never got over her petty feud with my dearest Adjani, but she's an amazing actress. This looks like yet another hit for her.

This cover and images are so weak. Not a fan of it at all, too basic. And they've retouched her much, Elle France did a much better job.

Dream team! I love everything about this!

Do you mean in France or worldwide? Because I think in France she is as popular as Deneuve & co., what do you think?
I would love to see her on the cover of VP as well, but seems like Alt is more interested by young models.

I hope she gets the Oscar nom!

^^
I mean in France and worldwide. She said many times that she takes the bus and like the fact that no one is recognizing her.
Don't get me wrong, she is highly respected and like Deneuve, she is a living legend but her movies has always been a bit more exclusive.
Her last popular success in France was "L'Ivresse du Pouvoir" and most of her international career is based on very deep dramas and "intellectual" movies. So it makes sense for her to be on the cover of a supplement of a "Serious" newspaper than on Vogue.

ELLE France has always had an history with actresses and readers of ELLE knows about Queen Huppert. The same cannot be verified with Vogue.
Vogue Paris is really about fashion. Under Joan Juliet Buck she could have get a cover but now, i'm not so sure about that.

Even if she has a lot of supporters in the industry (many campaigns, many friends, many fans), i don't see her getting a cover.
Alt has always been interested in models. She supported a lot of models and in terms of celebrities, she relies on the popular with bigger appeal ones (Deneuve, Marceau, Paradis...etc.), the ones who always performs well and who are recognized around the world as icons of France.

She deserves a far superior shoot than this. Looks so mundane like a mum getting ready to pick up her kids from school.

I'm not saying she will get a cover, but she's been getting plenty of awards attention in the US and is likely to get an Oscar nomination for Best Actress this year. In the last 20 years only 3 French actresses have done so (Juliette Binoche, Emmanuelle Riva, and Marion Cotillard) and in two of those cases it helped propel them into further international stardom. Major red carpet appearances, talk show appearances, and awards show appearances could potentially make her a bit more of a hot commodity in the fashion world. It all depends on how much she decides to play into the publicity/Hollywood machine. We'll see.
