Taking the pain out of high heels

Meg said:
I think it is placed into the shoe deep enough it won't scratch the ground but unless there is a cover for it, it could all sorts of gross things on it. Anyway I find that design wise it's alright.

I think it doesn't really convert to a flat, but more of skimmer. That way the heel can be hidden better. Cute idea, kinda cute shoe, but if I'm wearing heels I need heels for that outfit and flats won't do.

I think if its done itll be a greaaaat idea...i get ache on the souls of ma feet from heels(the torture to look good!)
any advice to ease the pain and get used to heels?

hahahah, I think that's hilarious.

Wear them all the time! hahah, not so much to the point where you get blisters, but as much as you possibly can -- that's how I got used to them.

Superfeet dressfit inserts for heels:

They support your arch and help distribute your weight over your whole foot rather than just the front of the foot. I find they make a tremendous difference in comfort, and don't take up much space at all in the shoe.

Also, if your toes tend to slide forward:

You can put these under the ball of your foot, and it prevents sliding, gives you some cushioning and doesn't take up that much space.

Just wear them as much as you can and when it hurts wear them some more! Your feet will adjust. It's not all bad for you either - heel are great for leg/calf toning and superb for your posture. Just work through the pain like you would with other exercises and it will get better!

Heels weren't made to be pratical IMO ^_^ (apart from the fact that they make midgets like me taller).

Sorry Charlotte, I don't agree with this part of your post. Pain is a message from your feet that they have had enough. Continuing past this point is where you risk damaging your feet.

By all means wear them as much as possible, but change to something lower when your feet start hurting. With time, you will be able to wear them for longer and longer before they start to hurt.

fashionbutterfly...get the gel cushions for the balls of your feet...I've been wearing these lately and when I take my feet out after a night of hard partying it doesnt sting when I 'come back down to ground level' which it did before I wore them.

Massage your feet at night after wearing heels all day. It makes all the difference for me.

Definately helps. I do the slather with lotion thing then put on socks. That works well.

I don't see myself in the "convertible" heel. I actually stumble more in flats than heels.

^ :p me to. I stumble more in flats than in heels (i thought it was just me). but i DO massage my feet nightly with lotion and it helps a lot after wearing heels all day. i recently tried foot petals, but they didn't seem to work for me...
