TAO Comme des Garcons S/S 07 Paris

LOVE this - I love the fact that despite all the frills and frou-frou-ness, it never looks contrively feminine or over the top. There's a restraint about it that I love - probably down to the impeccable tailoring...

too bad there are no closeups of the headgear
Beautiful!

The model wore one of the paper outfits. (The skirt is made from paper.)

what is the show...part of a comme des garcons presentation? Just wondering as I see the speedo collaborative back-drop....

anyway...that's really beautiful. tao is one of my new obsessions...

No Scott. It was day (or maybe two) after the official shows (CdG and JW). It took place at their showroom in place Vendome. There was a seperate room for the Speedo colab there.

The coll is very very nice, simple, all white, some stuffs are made from a stiff fabric that is usually used for making pattern - as I was told. So that it is cheap, but the clothes are expensive:-P The cotton for polos is super, tho. The shoes look super, too.

^yes. maybe we should merge this just so we won't have too many threads about the same topic.

well from the look of that skirt, (which i Loooovvveee) the patterns are not easy to be made, and it takes a lot of fabric to cut multiple layers of circular ruffles , so even if the fabric (per yardage) is inexpensive, the amount of labour will definately send the price back into the "statosphere"

I like how it's all white and plainish. It makes you look at the actual cut and texture rather than being distracted by fabric or pattern or whatever.

Zamb, this skirt is made from paper. I think she made two or three dresses from thousands of tiny stripes of paper, plus this one.

I think one of the pleated skirt in beige is made from the fabric I mentioned. The fabric reminds me of a fantastic Comme collection, in heavy beige "judo" fabric, long skirts, draperies...

Sorry for reposting:-)
