Worked my way through the issue this afternoon and it was a solid read! From cover to cover. It was randomly revealed in a snippet towards the end of the magazine that the cover seemed inspired by the Herb Ritts original circa 1985:
As for the 'eligible divorcees' feature, the most comical (or creepiest) part of it is Tatler telling their readers where exactly they spend their time hanging out so readers can 'casually bump into' these dream divorcees. I expect if you're a golddigger this magazine is the ultimate resource to fake it till you make it.
There's also some dirty laundry being aired further in the magazine from the descendants of Jane Seymour, one of Henry VIII's many wives. A 30-year old aristo is being informally exiled, and on the verge of being cheated out of a vast inheritance all because of the cardinal sin of marrying a commoner (read: a well-heeled executive director at Goldman Sachs, the shame, lol) who the family claimed 'is not of their world.' Other slights include the young couple sending out wedding invitations using the incorrect font, shade of blue, and overall format. I sympathised with the couple on principle until I saw that the entire story was styled like an editorial, down to the clothing credits and prices being displayed with looks from Bottega Veneta, Jimmy Choo, and Boss. Sounds to me like attention-seeking, toff-style.
