After just two years in the modeling business, Canadian stunner Taylor Fuchs has risen to fashion fame with highly coveted ad campaigns for Valentino, D&G, Benetton, and Pringle of Scotland. Recently ranked as the ninth most successful male model of the year by Forbes, Wilhelmina's Taylor has quickly become a hot commodity. We caught up with the mannequin backstage at Lacoste's spring runway show to learn about his fashion week prep.

How do you like living in New York compared to your hometown in Saskatchewan, Canada?
[Saskatchewan] is totally opposite so you can't really compare, but it's amazing having both of them so I can have an outlet that's totally wide, open space back home, and then the total craziness of New York. [New York's] not like anywhere else.

What music, snacks, etc. help you survive fashion week?
Chocolate is good... sugar boost! I like Kings of Leon right now... but I just love my Bob Marley- I have it on repeat all the time.

What are you most excited for during this leg of the shows?
The parties! They're always great during fashion week.
What shows do you look forward to during fashion week?
Lacoste is one of my favorite shows for sure. I've done it for the past three or four seasons now. I just shot the campaign that's coming out in January [Spring 2010].

What designers do you like to wear?
Right now I think one of my favorites is John Varvatos. Also Robert Gellar, a new and upcoming guy who's doing really good stuff.

Do you follow a regular exercise regimen or workout with a trainer?
I go to the gym, I play basketball- but nothing super intense. My life before [modeling] was sports, so it's kind of nice to have a place to go play basketball and kind of get back to my roots a little bit.

Do you have any idea what you'd like to do after you retire from modeling?
Eventually I'll be going back to school. No idea what to study...taking it day by day as it comes. I need an epiphany!

What advice do you have for Teen Vogue readers looking into careers in the fashion industry?
If you do get the opportunity to be in the business, don't take anything for granted, because you don't know how long you're going to be [in it]. Live in the moment!
