EXCLUSIVE: TAYLOR HILL'S FIRST ANGEL WINGS FITTING

The newly anointed Angel gets prepped for tomorrow's big show

After her first appearance on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway in 2014—Hill has been on the Angel fast track, and was officially anointed as a Victoria's Secret Angel in April. The Illinois native, joins the ranks with veterans Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, and Behati Prinsloo—which might be intimidating to some, but the 19-year-old exudes innate confidence. Hill gave us the first look at her very first angel wings fitting, hand painted by Jeff Fender, and shared advice for VS's new guard.

Harper's BAZAAR: Tell me about your looks for the show this year.

Taylor Hill: I am in the opening "boho psychedelic" section, and I'm wearing black wings, a crocheted leather bra top with really long fringe pants. So, it's really boho-rocker, it's cool. For my second look, I'm wearing the American flag. It's such a moment, I'll probably cry because I'm very proud to wear this look as an American.

HB: What has your workout regimen been like that last couple weeks leading up to the show?

TH: It's been pretty tough. I try to go to the gym everyday or sometimes twice a day. I just kind of step it up the last week before the show, I put more weights on, I run faster. It's more of a mental thing to know that you worked really hard and you're sweating and you're ready to get there. And this job requires a lot of stamina for long days—it can be exhausting, so you have to be physically fit and prepared for it. It's hard work.

HB: What's your favorite workout?

TH: I love weight training, and being strong. I also like Cross Fit—I go to a couple classes every once in a while because it's really difficult and it makes me want to cry, but at least I know I'm working out really hard when I go.

HB: What was it like to find out you were one of the newest Angel?

TH: It was amazing. This brand makes you feel so good and so special. You belong to something.

HB: What makes you feel the most confident?

TH: Just being comfortable in my clothing and hair and makeup.

HB: What's the best beauty trick you've picked up from working with Victoria's Secret?

TH: The hair and makeup they do is always stunning. Every time I'm always like, "What's that? What do you use for that?" Learning how to do the soft waves like this—it's so hard. I try but I'm not very good at it.

HB: Did you look up to other models growing up?

TH: Absolutely. Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford—all amazing and beautiful women.

HB: What's your advice for the new girls?

TH: I would just say be confident and always stand up straight— there are always people watching you. Also, watch your mouth, no cursing.
