Teen Vogue just revealed its cover star for its February issue, and it's none other than Amandla Stenberg:

I have a confession to make: I didn’t prepare for my interview with Amandla Stenberg. Though we had never met, from the outside looking in, I recognized her so deeply that I didn’t think I’d need to. There’s a secret language shared among black girls who are destined to climb mountains and cross rivers in a world that tells us to belong to the valleys that surround us. You learn it very young, and although it has no words, you hear it clearly. You sense it when you walk into rooms with your hair in full bloom, each coil glorious, your sway swift and your stance proud. You feel it like a rhythm you can’t shake if you even dared to quiet the sounds around you. more at teenvogue.com

Yes god! Amandla is gorgeous and Solange is EVERYTHING! Great cover, great editorial, amazing interview.

Is this an OG cover? Don't really know who she is, vaguely recall seeing something on Dazed Digital about herm The shot looks ok, but the 3rd shot wouldve been better.

Perfect person to have as a cover subject! Someone who is not only beautiful, but also has a strong voice and positive platform.

Possibly the best Teen Vogue cover i have ever seen, simply gorgeous. No idea who she is though!

She's beautiful and smart and the kind of person Teen Vogue should put on their covers more often.

That said, I hesitate to call her an activist, as she's referred to on the cover. Unless there's something I don't know, her "activism" is limited to making a couple of tweets and a video for a class project that ended up going viral? Maybe I'm missing something...

Amy has been doing an amazing job at Teen Vogue. I never thought I would see the title " Best make up for dark skin" in a high profile fashion magazine. She constantly impresses me with her cover choices.

Stunning cover, Amandla is so wonderful and photographs beautifully! I am so rooting for her and cant wait to see how she develops!

I love it. I don't know her but she does look gorgeous. The cover lines look interesting as well.

Last month was Fernanda Ly followed by a woman of color. Kudos to Amy. Diversity.

Gorgeous cover and inspiring cover choice for the readers of Teen Vogue.

Not a single cringe worthy cover line. That's in itself is notable.

She's got an amazing face.
I really love it

It's perfect cover for Teen Vogue! It's beautiful portrait. Love these colors. All here is so fresh and girly!

They raised the bar big time!

I don't see how they can give Kylie a cover in a few months without losing their credibility.
