At the Michael Kors shows I asked Andre Leon Talley of Vogue magazine what he thought fashion in Oregon looks like.

"I've never been there," he said. "But what I imagine is sky. Sea. Sun. Good food. Very wholesome."
I was asking about fashion, but OK. I pressed on: Are you thinking plaid shirts, lumberjack boots and granola-crunchy-tree-huggers?

"That's not my image of Oregon," he said. "I think of the vistas and landscapes." Talley, by the way, was wearing yet another long, crocodile trench coat by Gucci. "I have many colors. A plethora of colors," he said. Also before the Michael Kors show, we spotted Kelly Strait, owner of the international Mode Models agency, which has an office in Portland. "There's an Oregon boy in the show," he said. I couldn't get a picture of Terron Wood because the models at Michael Kors come out 12 at a time and move like lightning, but you can see his gorgeous composite at Mode's Site(look under T for Terron). You can also find the amazing Darla Baker -- under D -- an Oregonian model who, Strait said excitedly, is on the cover of the October issue of German Vogue. Score one for the Os!
