Do you think it's pronounced "Thakoon" or "Takoon"?

I was wondering too, can anyone clear that up?

I absolutely adore every single piece - I would wear all of it with great pleasure!

what gauchos and culottes?...

i only see cropped pants and bermuda shorts...

Hmmmm......sweet and unnasuming. I really like the detail on that last dress, looks like big pleats or strips of fabric sewn together.

the word is out...and spreading...from british vogue...

THE HEAT IS RISING

SARAH JESSICA PARKER and Natalie Portman have been busily proving the point that Thakoon is one of fashion's hottest new names this week. While SJP bought five pieces of his 8-piece capsule collection for autumn/winter 2004-5, Portman has been deep in discussion with the New York-based designer about what to wear to the New York and LA premieres of Closer, in which we will soon see her starring opposite Jude Law. "It's not that I've courted celebrity attention, I just have a good rapport with people I have worked with over the years and I design for the girls I know," says the ex-fashion journalist and stylist, who is also the subject of a forthcoming documentary about making it on the New York fashion scene. "It's cool, but not too cool and my friends seem to like it. So I guess my reputation has spread by word-of-mouth - it's just the right mouths." Thakoon's spring/summer 2005 collection, made up of a slightly larger 35 pieces, will be sold by Browns, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges from February, while some of his autumn/winter looks are still available at NET-A-PORTER.COM now. And while the collections are getting progressively bigger, he isn't planning to go the whole catwalk way just yet. "The first was a real jewellery box of a collection and the spring/summer installation had the same feeling," he says of the presentation in February that had some fashion journalists in tears because it was so gorgeous. "I don't want to run before I can walk." www.thakoon.com. (November 24 2004, AM) :flower:

Hey! I'm also Thai and I haven't seen the Thai spelling but I'm pretty sure that the way to pronounce it is sort of like an intermediate between "Thakoon" and "Takoon" (lol, yea real helpful I know :P ).

There is a Thai character that isn't quite as lispy as a "th" sound but a little bit more lispy than a "t." If you speak Spanish, the sound is kind of like the "t" in "tortilla."

Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure that's correct but since I haven't seen the spelling with Thai characters I can't say 100% (although, the only other alternative I can think of would be if it were pronounced "Dakoon" although that possibility is pretty much negligible).

Hope that helps! :flower:
