Designers, notciably in Paris FW, have been showing more and more patent leather, latex, vinyl, coated fabrics or reflective materials, you name it, that resemble plastic all over the runways, coats, dresses, pants, shirts, skirts, everything...Guess fashion's become so superficial after all:p
sorry, i couldn't find any better title

It's weird in a way. Back in s/s 07 when this whole shiny fabric thing first started growing as a trend, it was very off-putting, very how are you supposed to wear that in the real world.

I feel like slowly that apprehension has diminished, maybe from seeing so much of it start to trickle down, or maybe designers are starting to do it in a more approachable way. I'm still not sure.

I do love that faux-wrap angled patent skirt at Balenciaga, and I could definitely see that being worn with matte fabrics on top (as it's shown) and looking extremely chic. That Bruno Pieters shift is also very approachable looking.

I love the hand painted latex at Balenciaga as well, though I can't imagine too many women being gutsy enough to wear it.

The Chanel stuff, well it kind of reminds me of plastic shower curtains.

Some more additions from Versace
