So, I have a doubt that maybe you can answer me... So... why models like MariaCarla and Vlada become the best walkers with walk styles that are almost reminiscent from the 90's... but the casting directors are always telling the models to walk robotic-ly?
I'm saying this because I'm a model myself and my walk is quite "worked" and casting directors are always telling me to repeat my walk because I need to be more static.
I'm a MariaCarla addict and I always feel amazed by the way she kills the runway!
if the directors tell you what they want, you just do what they want. but at first you can try something you like to do, if the directors feel fine with it, then you can just do your own thing. if they tell you they want you to walk in a more robotic way, then change it.
when doing a show, nothing is more important than taking whatever s*** those director want, cause they are the boss.
Guess I need to work more. My main problem is the arms... But even when MariaCarla is doing the "toned down" kind of walk, she keeps her arms moving... but so softly that no one notice. And its seems she keeps her back straight and not leaned back. Her walk is so unique.
before there was marpessa, dalma and anna bayle...the new gen of models i looooove maria carla boscono (the best of them all)...anja rubik ( very classy ) & natasha poly..they have the best walk in the business.
i hate the way these models walk: arizone muse, sasha (though i adore her), anais puliot, joan smalls and most of all, i hate karlie kloss..she walks like a show horse but alas, most of the designers love her!!!!
high fiving you on that comment alone; there is just no panache in her style of walking. And that irritating heavy staccato emphasis on her steps is just, oh well....
and i love the victorian vintage doll look of her face....almost cartoonish with the teeth gap..a lot of people hates the way she walks and the way she poses at the end of the runway...i just love her!!!
