The Best & Worst Catwalkers

For her first season as a 16 year old I think it's not too bad. Certainly not amazing like a lot of older more experience models including her mother but it's also not terrible compared to a lot of current runway girls.
My only critique of it so far is that she needs to hold her head up a bit more and relax her arms a bit more. Her upper body is a tad too stiff for her walk.
I have no doubt she'll grow more confident though and so will her walk.

Kaias walk will definitely improve during this season but then her brother is a complete disaster, looking like a roboter butler… (5:40)
considering that this is Ralph Lauren which usually has the best classy walkers in their show, this is quite bad. Maybe its also the carpet runway but most of them look cringeworthy on the posing and the turn at the corners. I only like Romee minus the pout (2:14) and of course Vlada (4:39) is still queen! Too bad they didnt show her whole walk (whoever filmed this should get fired…)

Looks like she is struggling with her dress hem at the end but handling it with a smile

this is not the 90s anymore. She looked pretty ridiculous there.

That's not the walk they used to do in the 90's at all.

I think she did it great, I like Kaia's walk too. So good to see sexy walks again, I was tired of the zombie walkers. Luna Bijl and Faretta are very good too.

I was not referring to the "90s twirls" I was referring to the hip and arm movement. That only worked in the 90s or at the current VS trash show. Also, if she did twirl, all that bouncing wouldn't look as ridiculous to me. It was like she was about to lose an arm at some point.

I don't like zombies either but there's a middle ground there. Something between the VS bounce and the zombie walk. But I guess it's a matter of taste. I hate to see Giselle-Adriana doing regular shows too.

This picture pretty much sums up what I'm trying to say. Girl is about to displace her hip/shoulder.

I get that the girl @3:52 has been a model since two or three weeks ago but come on, she's literally the most awkward catwalker out there now.

I loved Kaia's walk. I think it takes a ton of confidence to go out there and really GIVE IT like that, especially at the age of 16, especially at your first fashion week, and especially when you know all eyes (and judgements) will be on you because your mom is a legendary supermodel.

She did fantastic!

I think it's more reminscent of the 2000s with the stompy walks we saw from Natasha, Natalia, Eugenia, Gemma etc. It started with Gisele and the other brazillans during the late 90s, but most 90s models dont walk like that.

Kaia didnt walk like that in all of her shows by the way. She really just pumped it up for the Wang show.

I remember this kind of wobbly-glamazon walk from a few 90s models with Naomi as prime example. Gisele yes, agree, queen of all galloping... terrible. But again, it fitted the era, some designers even asked for it, looking trash was cool - it was all about Tom's Gucci, over the top Dior and Paris Hilton.

Kaia's walk at Wang looks exactly like Heidi Klum in post #615. Not sure why one is "awful" and the other "amazing". Also, her gaze was completely dead, weak, almost scared.

And I don't get the "she's 16" thing: we are talking about models here, most start at 15 and 16, some with pretty solid walks.

Again, few disliked her so maybe we will see a resurgence of this kind of walk soon.

Yasmin had a great walk at Versus. Greta held her own quite well too.

Adwoa Aboah shouldn't do runway imo, she looked so short at Topshop today and kind of odd, like her head had been put on someone else's body. Not to mention her weird slouchy walk like she can't be bothered to be there keeps taking the opening spots of good shows. Birgit was the second girl to walk and looked so much stronger in comparison.

Yasmin is one of the best walkers out there right now, Ill take hers over Kaia's any day. Having said that, I did feel a tiny supermodel moment when she opened Wang.

I agree... I thought I was the only one who thinks Adwoa's walk is messy. I would put her in the "Models who Aren't That Tall" thread but I don't know her real height (DNA has her listed as 5'8) and I'm sure her big head shape also makes her body look a lot smaller and shorter.

Kaia's walk is great, imo. There's obviously room for improvement (those arms...) but being that it's her first season that walk was great. It definitely belongs in another decade, but I haven't seen many videos apart from Wang and Fenty where she really amplified her walk. As she grows, so will her walk.

Not a fan of Greta but Yasmin is amazing. Yasmin has that MariaCarla-confident-stomp with full control of every part of her body. Love it.

Joan and Jourdan!!! Girls who can really make the clothes come alive with their walks.
