The Biggest Fashion Don'ts Ever…

this thread is funny..it should be called, fashion donts in your opinion...because alot of things posted are a MUST for me and im sure for alot of other people...I think there isnt a fashion dont.....what i see as a dont someone else sees as a do...and fashion is so diverse , so it style..

Visible underwear (I saw a woman in her early 50s the other day and she was wearing white thin linen pants and red panties )

Too much denim

Sandals with socks (why wear socks in the summer?)

^ i SO agree with that!
if you love it that your feets are covered then sandals are just NOT for you.

One thing that bothers me hugely is wearing clothes that are in a size too small. And I don't mean "form fitting" or necessarily "tight pants" (because tight pants can look good, hello skinny jeans) -- but it's obvious when clothes are meant to be form fitting opposed to clothes that are simply the wrong size. It's never flattering, and looks awful. If you're slender you look strangely disproportionately little, and if you're voluptuous you not only look heavier, but you have a nasty little muffin top.

More than one denim piece worn at a time

Wearing a single designer from head to toe, e.g. Chanel skirt, Chanel blouse, Chanel shoes, Chanel bag, Chanel stockings, and Chanel earrings for one single outfit. It's very passé.

Visible nipples and "camel-toe" seen through clothing. I know sometimes we can't help the former, especially in times when the temperature drops, but a bit of modesty doesn't hurt anybody.

"Matchy Match" -- wearing a single colour or pattern (especially pattern) from head to toe. I've noticed the only exception is black, but even then the outfit is incredibly boring without the proper mix of texture and material.

Wearing clothes out of the season, e.g. snow boots in the summer/flip flops in winter.

Shirts with "sweetheart", "naughty", "baby", "princess", "hottie", etc. Why? Just why? Especially on young girls who wear the "hottie rescue" and "sexy".

This is all I can think of at the moment, although I'm sure there are way more worse things out there. I tried to exclude things that are more personal style, e.g. graphic tees and leggings -- which although may be things that I don't like -- are certainly things I wouldn't go as far as to say are "wrong" in fashion.

^ I hate most conversation tshirts, thyre so cheap. But there are the few that are pretty cool. lol I liked Lindsay Lohan's "Skinny b*tch"

well, some of my big no-go's:

- mokkassins. i don't know whether that word exists in english, but i have to use it. it just sounds as ugly as those shoes are.
- flip-flops. worn with leggins. it doesn't get much worse.
- i really dislike this jeans-in-boots look, especially if the jeans has the wrong cut and doesn't fit properly in the boots. that's everywhere in germany as soon as the temperature drops below 10 °
- i don't wear jeans, but that's my own decision. however, denim jackets or denim dresses, i don't think them a good idea.
- leggins. i remember mouret once said that his biggest disappointment in fashion was that the leggins are back. i second that.

The word Moccasin does exist in English, it's actually a Native American word (Algonquin?) since the shoe itself is historically worn by Native Americans. I think the word sounds nice actually, soft just like the shoe. Some styles of moccasins are nice, too. Especially when they're worn with the tradition outfits in ceremonies, etc.

i know that moccasins are shoes worn by native americans and as a part of a culture they're as undebatable as dirndls or kimonos. without that cultural background i find them not very pretty.

I second the old ladies wearing miniskirts, based on personal bias.
I went to a festival last weekend wearing an H&M floral skirt...

The skirt I have is shorter than that by about two tiers. Anyway, I was wearing it with black tights and platform wedges and I saw a woman twice my age wearing it with bare legs. Admittedly, I was ashamed to have been wearing the same skirt as someone else, so I can't judge if I would have agreed with this fashion don't prior to the incident, but it made me very upset.

I suppose my fashion don't for today is pink sweatpants.
As I was pulling into my college's parking lot today, I had the displeasure of seeing two Victoria's Secret "Pink" patrons outfitted in head-to-toe pink velour and white cotton with pink embellishments. It is getting annoying.

^^that is painful to even think about.

i am just not a fan of head bands. i think they look so out of place, no matter who is wearing them. unless, of course, you are at the gym lifting weights. then, by all means, work it!

ill fitting clothes... too small, too big, wrong cuts for the body, wearing high waisted pants when you have a short torso... or wearing a skirt that is too long when you have short legs...

i don't care in general what other people wear, it's their choice as unfortunate as some may be...

just please dress according to your shape, just because the mini frills are back doesn't mean a girl with the not so approrpriate size should sport it, although kuddos to the girls that dare enough and don't care about walking around like that.. shows guts, or that they do not own mirrors... sounds cruel but it's true, I'm not slim yet I know when something goes on or simply goes... in the bin or stays on the rack

.. fantastic thread

imo white socks with black shoes and short trousers

Ed Hardy brand - it looks tacky and white trash. I can't step onto campus without seeing it everywhere.
Pantylines. Or thongs sticking out the top of pants.
Short-shorts.
Spaghetti straps 98.9% of the time.

ED HARDY YES I COMPLETELY AGREE.
toms shoes. i know they are for a good cause, but so hideous.
visors, unless you're playing tennis.
those converse that come up the leg

i could go on forever..

crocs...:sick::sick::sick:

Huge in-your-face Designer logos...If I'm gonna be a walking billboard for Chanel or whatevs, I might as well get paid...
