"In barely-there bombs, she's a taste-free pain. Let's crown her the Tacky Temptress of Wisteria Lane," he wrote in a statement released Tuesday.

Lindsay Lohan was the next target of the acid-tongued critic, who called the starlet "over-hyped and under-dressed."

However, Blackwell gave kudos to "fabulous fashion independents" Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Barbara Walters, Kate Winslet, Annette Bening (news), Oprah Winfrey, Scarlett Johansson, Gwen Stefani (news), Jennifer Garner and Sheridan's on-screen nemesis Teri Hatcher (news).

This is the 45th year that Blackwell, a former fashion designer, has offered his best- and worst-dressed women lists.

Last year's worst-dressed star, hotel heiress Paris Hilton, dropped to No. 5. "This is one Hilton that should be closed for renovation!" according to Blackwell.

Other fashion losers include Courtney Love, Serena Williams (news - web sites), Britney Spears (news), Paula Abdul (news), Meryl Streep and Anna Nicole Smith (news - web sites).

Sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson (news) tied for third place. "These two prove that bad taste is positively genetic!" Blackwell said.

Blackwell said he couldn't wait to bid farewell to 2004, the year of many "wardrobe malfunctions."

He added: "Here's hoping 2005 takes the ultra-feminine look to new heights. Elegance, classicism and restraint are never out of style. Neither is a good 3-way mirror."

I so agree on Lindsay Lohan... I never liked her style.

***A Tie Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson: From gaudy … to grim … to downright frenetic these two prove that bad taste is positively genetic!

Glad to see Scarlett Johansson on the best dressed list!

And Oprah, I think she dresses great! Her hair looks magnificent just like her make-up, of course she has a great team but thumbs up to her. She's 50! :flower:

Lindsay Lohan "overhyped and under-dressed" whehehe. That's sooo true

Good to see Oprah on the best dressed list. She looks great!

And Paris should definitely stay closed for some major renovation. :innocent:

i so agree on lindsay and the simpsons, but: why didn't he include Gwen's style in this category?....

because Gwen is adorable and dresses beautifully :P

Did Mariah Carey make the list? She always strikes me as someone who puts everything on show and reeks of desperation. She can't seem to capable of putting it away for just one public appearance. :yuk:

I've only seen one outfit of Sheridan so far, so I can't really judge. But the one that I saw was pretty  .

Barbara Walters, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Garner and Teri Hatcher are OK, but they're not exceptionnal enough to be put on the best dressed list.

I haven't seen any pics of her lately, thank god for that

What's so special about the way Teri Hatcher dresses? I mean she's hot but I don't think I vividly recall anything she was in that was spectacular.

 @ Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and those other celebs who, when they dress give off an air of desperation...

Sadfully she's planning a comeback and from what I heard she will rename herself: MIMI! OMG! I sort of liked her when she did her Honey comeback after her divorce.

Recent pic (silicon valley!:(

Barbara Walters, Jennifer Garner and Teri Hatcher do not deserve to be on this list at all. BW wears primarily pastel suits, Jennifer Garner often wears dresses that are too fancy and overbearing, imo (the tangerine Valentino, the white, lacy Oscar de la Renta), and I can only think of one dress Teri Hatcher has worn, and I didn't even like it (the black and white Elie Saab couture dress). Kate Winslet is a v. good dresser, but I'm not sure if I would put her on this list. Maybe. I apologize for the rant, but I agree with the worst dressed list.

What about that awful woman Kimora "I have too much money and no taste" Simmons?
I just cannot stand that trailor park naffness.
And although I have it on very good authority that her old boss Karl Lagerfeld is a complete prick, he did say that he felt bad that he had turned her into a "classless monster" (she was his muse at Chanel aged 14)

I agree, that Kimora Lee Simmons should have been on that worst dressed list only because she wears some tacky dresses.
I actually like that photo of Mariah in the Rainbow photshoot especially because it was taken by David LaChapelle.

Her Babyphat efforts are very tacky too! Di dyou see her house of MTV cribs? It's Versace Mayhem, over-the-top and classless if you ask me. But then again, the Versace style is a hard one to pull off stylishly, Gianni was best at it.

The 'good' and the 'bad' seem merely a division of the inoffensive and the offensive. :innocent: Although I'm glad to see Scarlett. ^_^
