The Clash rock. Discuss.

I haven't heard much of them, but I know a lot now, as I'm gonna have a presentation about british punk in english class next week.

thanks for the pictures twill bill :flower:
they're my all-time favorite band, and they had very cool diy style

Timeless. Such great styles and messages portrayed throughout their run. All-time favorite of mine, rly.

Straight to Hell and Police and Thieves never ever become unbearable or boring, imho.

Great thread!

I love them
like The Smiths..there's this certain sound to them that makes me love them

Such a cool band, I'm just getting into them.

I like their style.

I so so so so love them!!
Best punk band ever. Their songs are pure inspiration.

all my friends are crazy about them...they're their biggest influence music and style-wise too...
i love them...
although i have to admit im more of a Smiths girl...but 'Rock the Casbah' is one of the best songs EVER

that's the song that introduced me to them! I was bumming around ondemand on day and on a whim watched it---for some reason I love the way joe sort of marches/kicks his way back toward topper in the video :D

does anyone have more pics of them? I'll keep looking but most of the ones I find are super small

thanks for the vid diamond star :flower:

has anyone seen the new documentary on joe strummer...
i think it's called..
'the future is unwritten'..

i watched it twice...
really good stuff...
really interesting...

did you know that joe strummer...far from being some 'street punk'...
was the son of diplomats and went to private school...?
explains a bit about why he was able to write such intelligent lyrics about such serious topics as social injustice etc...

very enlightening...if a bit disappointing...:innocent:

I just saw that recently!! very, very interesting. I like the story behind "rock the casbah" and it was interesting to hear everyone's opinions on him. I wish we could've heard more from joe though, from past interview etc.
though the clips from his radio show were interesting

Janie Jones is ace...i also like the Babyshambles & Friends version

Love Train in Vain!

That song is so upbeat, always makes me feel like dancing!

:woot:

^I know! :D
they've got so much variety in their music, not just solely stereotypical punk. I love that about them!!

they are one of my absolute favorites...
i could listen to "london calling" on a loop and never get sick of it. i have loved them for sooo long. they're one of the only bands that i listen to where i would wear a t-shirt with them on it (i say this because i normally hate band t shirts).

i really want to see "the future is unwritten". it was playing near me for a while but i missed it. anyone know when it will be on dvd?

same! I'm not a band tee wear-er either, but they're definitely my exception.

does anyone know where to get a good Clash t-shirt?
