I 'd like to reflect on the very essence of
seasonal trends...
how it comes that in the collections of different designer's Milan's or Paris's
to appear one and same moments,details..

It was interesting
how in the 2005/06 Burberry and Issey Miyake's
there is flowers on jacket's ,coats, manteaus

how the capes appeared in burberry,Carlo Pignatelli's ,Raf simons ,even dior homme's collection of 2005/06

do designers spy each other..
or there is some Metafashionable level where they are consent
and then each of them trying to variate under consentual headline..

I am affraid that there isn't explanation in cathegoras of hegel/marx
historical necessity...

but there is just one hidden communication between designers

if you had found some
similarity in 2006/07 men's collections I'd appreciate to hear about your estimations

It's a good questino whimsicalist, and one I've thought about before too. Maybe some of our fashion insiders can comment on this. One view may be that it is a cynical and exploitative measure on the part of even highly esteemed designers to ensure that they seem "relevant" to the moment. Another may be that the industry itself tells designers, even if subliminaly or otherwise not explicitly, what to do (in the broadest sense), to give them the opportunity not to feel not of the moment.

have you observe such similarity ..this 2006/07 season...in concrete

because of health I little missed the 2006/07 milan paris collection's paragons

fashion insiders???
what do you mean!

do we have contact here with such personaes..

i think this is very essential point..and nice approach to the concept "Providing something with Newness"..

looking on simulteniosness and digging some epoques, some historic paradigmes to imitate,or to be influenced..as hedi with ska -mod for 2006...this link was been long anticipated from me..and I was surprized that this not surprized me last july!

but this question is not only about fashion ..this is also in literature,in modern-postmoder split...
may be we can define this condition with
statement "there is something in 70's that will make 90's to put in 80's some androginousness..some emancipation from man's substance

No, but I haven't looked at any collections other than Raf for Sander, comme and Junya W. Not really "trend based" brands, which is why I look at them in the first place. In fact kind of anti-trend......Junya doing military, no one really liked, because, and a few said this, it was so "done". It's good not to care about such notions I think..just do what appeals to you. Forget "done" or "trend".

Oh actually, I seem to remember a lot of animal print in both men's and women's wear.......where did that come from then? Dries Van Noten did it in particular.....he is becoming the Roberto Cavalli of so called high brow fashion.

We certainly have people who work in the industry......buyers, stylists, shop owners, a few designers I think.....

who dictate...
is fashion more ocialist -where there is more collective and progress deffinition
or theocration like formula -collective but tradition...

what dynamize principle of exchange or principle of sameness

WHim - 'High Brow' means more cerebral or intellectual fashion......

I think what you say is interesting but its been discussed before in particular in relation to trend forecasting. Lena is knowledgable on this subject .....its when trend forecasting companies come up with ideas of what will be 'in' in several seasons time.

I think its for that reason that so many designers seem to, almost miraculously, come up with the same themes.

^^I just mean high end, sophisticated, slightly esoteric.

I've always wondered about this too. Like how so many of the runways had plaid this season... How they all do it at the same time?

LOL Helena....I was responding to Whimsicalist's post, where he asked the question that we both answered, not your own - they must have been written at the same time.

labels try to forecast what's hot and what's going to be the trend in a given or future season. i guess they just end up with similar colors & pieces to please the market.

may be there is some Meta-fashionist that dictate the trends..
bach to 60's ..next season will be baroque, etc, etc
