Ohhh, please tell me that someone in the UK is recording this series and planning to somehow share it? It was also aired in the Spring. Please please please? :D

THE HOUSE OF CHANEL
Loic Prigent, France, 2005
Thursday 8 June - Thursday 6 July 11pm-11.30pm

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/storyville/chanel.shtml

The House of Chanel goes behind the scenes to follow the creation of Chanel's Haute Couture collection from Karl Lagerfeld's first drawings to the cat walk show. Filmmaker Loic Prigent's intimate access provides a humorous and detailed account of the highs and lows of this creative process and demonstrates the great skill and craft required to execute the designs.

1. ANTICIPATION
Thursday 8 June 2006 11pm-11.30pm
We meet the staff at Chanel's Rue Cambon HQ. They are putting the finishing touches to the Cruise Collection and eagerly await Karl Lagerfeld's designs for the Haute Couture Collection.

2. DOUBTS
Thursday 15 June 11pm-11.30pm
Some designs are posing real headaches and the staff battle to keep up with Karl Lagerfeld's
constant changes. We also meet Monsieur Massaro, the couture cobbler who learnt his trade at his father's knee.

3. RITUALS
Thursday 22 June 11pm-11.30pm
Observance of Old Dressmaker Lore is on the rise, along with stress levels and chocolate consumption. We are also introduced to Madame Pouzieux, Chanel's celebrated braid maker, whose incomprehensible loom has defied many a would-be apprentice.

4. THE ALL-NIGHT VIGIL
Thursday 29 June 11pm-11.30pm
Time is running out and Karl Lagerfeld has added more designs. Madame Pouzieux is at her loom, the embroiderers are working around the clock and the show is fast approaching. Will everything be ready in time?

5. THE COLLECTION
Thursday 6 July 11pm-11.30pm
It's show time. A terrific thunder storm breaks just as the VIPs are starting to arrive, while the politics of the seating plan and the late arrivals make for heavy weather inside. Is Karl ready for his public? And will they buy?

Its a bit late isn't it? A shame though...

I know, I just found it today. But I figure that someone must have caught it before me! ^_^

oh boo. I don't even have BBC4 but if it I did.

Its not all that amaizing tbh .. but you learn some interesting random facts .. like did you know all the cord that channel use is made by one little old woman who is like 75 and shes worked for channel for over 50 years?? also i was shocked as the adverage age for workers at channel is about 55.
If had of known earlier i could have recorded it but theres only one show left and unlike other bbc4 programmes it is not being repeated .. well that vie seen off.

they might even release it on a dvd maybe ?? or maybe you could download it from somewere.

i remember susiebubble ages ago telling me about this site you could down load tv shows off... i cant for the life of me remember it .. but im sure it would be up on there... if i remember the site ill let you :flower:

^ I think that might be http://www.mininova.org

It's been released on DVD already, you can get it at colette.fr, it's called Signé Chanel (or sometime like it).

The series has been shown on BBC4 once already, back in March, I think they're just doing a re-run now. I second that it was not awe-inspiringly brilliant, but it was enough for me to just see the word "Chanel" on TV

Ahhh, I have just learned that this series (aka Signé Chanel) will be airing on the Sundance Network in the states sometime in September 2006.

How strange that Sundance is starting to become my new favourite fashion network. Somewhere between this and House of Boateng, they show more fashion than, say the Style Network! B)
