I know the hair and makeup wasn't loved by majority of people, but this was my favorite dress of the night. It's simple, but theres something about it.

I'm sorry but personally I would throw that in the "Most Hideous Dress" thread. It looks like 3 trash bags taped together the some "sleeves" added with the leftovers.

Lol. That makes me laugh really hard.

Each to their own and everything, I don't mind Mary-Kate's The Row dress, I just think the fit and length is very unflattering, I think considering it was custom made for her, that it needed to be taken in and about an inch or two taken off the length, I also think her hair spoils it, she should of gone with a simple bun, but on someone else like Jessica Stam who has the height then I think it would look fantastic as is.

I've become slightly obsessed with this collection :') It's John Galliano S/S 2008

I did not like those Lanvin snake pieces when I first saw them, but when celebs (I think it was J.Lo) wore them, it actually works in real life. doesn't look as gimmicky. Sometimes you gotta see the dresses in a different setting and it makes all the difference.

i think that Swarovski gown is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. on the right person, it wouldn't be tacky; it would be the epitome of glam. (think somebody who simply could never be tacky - like Nicole Kidman or Eva Herzigova or KK)

I think Swarovski in general is tacky. They're fine as figurines and other stuff, but when people try to wear them as jewelry, it becomes as bad as cubic zirconium. I'm not sure they work on dresses either.

Plus the long dresses from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2007 show have more personality and the "just right" amount of touch to them than this over-zealous piece. Even couture doesn't try this hard.

Being able to wear a dress like this is as much a mental thing as anything else (of course, you ave to have the figure for it, too). I tried on a shorter version of this dress in Harrods recently. It was certainly heavy, but it made me feel a hundred thousand dollars. My (now-ex) boyfriend claimed he couldn't afford to buy it for me. Is it bad that I regret the dress more than the boy?
