The Mullet

miss60 i think it's the colour tht makes it . . . ;)
if it's a blonde / ginger mullet
there's too many bad 80's & trailer trash connotations going on there
black makes it a bit more 'now' + it must be sleek. NO backcombing thnx. ;)
having said tht i know two girls w/black hair & mullets
who don't look so gd :innocent:

thank you for your sweet words! yeah i dont like blond or red mullets either... i like my hair dark :) i also hate how people back comb it--looks so trashy. in finland we call people who do backcombing the "chickens ***" hair.....lol

haha oh miss60 and chanel, you guys reminded me of a freshman in New Hampshire school where i went for six months (before moving back to australia - thank god but no offense to anyone that lives there *heart*) he had this flame red hair in a mullet not unlike the first posted on the first page - yet fluffy and DOWN TO HIS WAIST!!!!! oh god the poor boy... and this was all before napoleon dynamite came out cause the rest of him was sure emulating the 'polian :P

the mullet has been in style in italy (and then in spain, barcelona) for as long as i can remember. all the italians+spaniards in ibiza have a mullet. both men and women.

here in north america people are a lot more conservative with their haircut.

Trent Alert : Mullets

Mullets are back!!

I've been seeing mullets all over the city; I guess there back.

I have a picture that I'll post once I recharge my batteries.

Anyone wanna get a mullet with me?

So where is the mullet best known? Down South baby!

The mullet is so popular down here, you barely even notice them anymore. The ultimate worst is when it's on a 'large' lady in her fourties, wearing a sleevless shirt, no bra and flower stretch-pants

I try to look away before it burns my eyes

^i think the mullet we are discussing here is not the horrid mullet on middle aged men and women who look like trailertrash..

the mulle that has come back is more fashionable and modern.. more like an 80s rockchick style :) (e.g. pat benatar)

but i know what you mean....

Theres tonnes of mullet in canada

I always thought the mullet originated in Canada. Before it was called a mullet it was called the "hockey haircut" because hockey players donned it so they could have a tail of hair coming out from the back of their helmets….blowing in the back as they skate real fast.

The Swedish term is hockeyfrilla, which means "ice hockey haircut" in reference to its popularity among some hockey players.

The Norwegian one is hockeysveis, which means "ice hockey weld".

Now I am very ashamed to admit to it but about 2 years ago my husband had a fauxhawk mullet like David Beckham.

Now, I'm a very tolerant person, even in the area of questionable style/taste, but I do giggle like a schoolgirl on the (thankfully) rare occasion I see a mullet.

But the day they become a trend, I'm chopping heads.....literally.

well celine - it looked hot on him so i reckon if u got it to be versatille and look good on a girl - than you rock!! i think you recieve kudos for the simple fact that ur version of the mullet did not include those long stringy limp pieces of hair that most girls claim for theirs
