The Row F/W 2023.24 Paris

I take it the belts around the coats are a styling element, and not a part of the design…??? Some styling tricks aside, the no-nonsense clean, monastic, American-minimalist silhouettes that are trickled-down versions of greater originals will clearly resonate with a certain well-heeled clientele who doesn’t have the time nor interest to hop from brand to brand to pull this aesthetic together. Like the men’s, they know who their customer is and maybe that’s boring to some, but it’s admirable, respectable and even aspirational to me that they’re not catering to everybody, and still sustainable. (Maybe somebody will stumble onto a The Row piece at a Neiman Marcus outlet at 90% off, fall in love with it and become a fan…)

I love the combinations of neutrals in look 19, 21 and 24. Great outerwear too, except for those clown-sized jacket and waistcoat in some of the looks (starting with 2 and 3), MK and Ashley do NOT need to try to go down the same road as The Frankie Shop. Yeah it's got a Yohji influence but that's a positive.

^I see a couple of bags and some belts, that's it.

Love the collection. Continued greatness for The Row

While it doesn't hurt my eyes at all, I find the whole proposal a bit sad and déjà-vu. I don't mind the lack of bright colors and I'm not trying to say I want to see neon shades everywhere but got a very tedious feeling towards this collection. I've seen better use of black or "neutral".

It’s okay but after their very ambitious Paris show that remixed the 90s and the 60s in such an interesting way…this is just boring, a return to their champagne and Xanax minimalism. It lacks that magic of the Lemaire show which was just brimming with life in spite of how pragmatic it actually was, it’s good to get down from the ivory tower once in a while…
