Thom Browne Resort 2024 Paris

While I appreciate his work due to the quality & textiles, I can't get too excited about his work. It really is the same looks & styles repeated ad infinitum. If you're a regular customer, I'm failing to see anything new that he'd be adding to your wardrobe.

His threads always remind me of that one guy who used to post pics of his TB couture in the old What Are You Wearing thread, and, literally, nobody here would ever respond to it...ever.

I dunno, I like this actually. Always found his collections very heavy, but this seems different. The silhouette is sleeker and not as busy, the colours are easy on the eye, and I'm obsessed with the shorts in Look 3.

Is it a resort collection? Definitely not. There should be no need for Thom Browne to have a resort or pre-whatever collection. Waste of resources, just think of all that textiles. Granted most of this probably won't go into production.

You mean Phuel? :handovermouth: Or was it Faust? I know Phuel had connections on here before he became a member. Or was is StyleZeitgeist? Now I'm confused.

I guess I must be in the minority here because I love Thom and his work. This is another great collection. Yes, it might look repetitive but it’s a resort collection and a lot of his work is in the small details, like the fabrications and cuts.

You don’t need to get a whole look (even if I do love it) because I can see so many great individual pieces that you could wear and rotate with your already existing TB pieces.

i never understand his appeal and success.

maybe it's a very american thing and/or some kind of mysterious cult devotion.
I think it's because he's one of the few established American designers that "goes beyond" the typical sportwear or gala dresses. Also, he's taken advantage of the rise of menswear and the discussion about gender neutrality in menswear.
