Tinsley is such a sad cautionary tale about the socialite world. She demonstrates how tenuous a position one has in that world when they have not been born into it and their only connection is marriage. Once the marriage ends, so do those connections. She also demonstrates why Olivia Palermo will never be a true socialite. Olivia will need to ditch Johannes and marry old money to have any sort of foothold in that world. I have no idea why any woman who wasn't born into that situation would actually strive to be a part of such a fake and shallow social scene where it matters more who you marry than what you accomplish.
^ Yes, you do wonder, and even in reading about Astors, Vanderbilts and Brenda Frazier (one time Society It Girl)- most of them seem like perfectly miserable people- almost as if they know their status in the Social world can be taken away at any time...I wonder what Tinsley's motivation was for going into it so strong; it wasn't like Topper was dragging her out to functions, quite the opposite, really...
Since Tinsley and Topper are technically not divorced yet I wonder what happens if they reconcile? Will awkwardness ensue when all the connections she lost are forced out of propriety to socialize with her again?
I didn't realize those "friends" on her reality show were fake. Why on earth would she let producers team her up with such awful people?
^ Yes, the show was cringe-worthy and her 'friends' all seemed like lowlifes...I mean, is it surprising the landed gentry turned their back on her when they had those drink throwing scenes in sleazy downtown clubs?? Simply not done, and certainly not on National TV!!...
But back to style- I like most of the things she has been wearing since her return- pretty proper and girly, which is nice to see!
I guess she is not with Dior anymore?? Haven't seen her do any advertisements.
I liked her Tinsley pink lipgloss when it came out. Does anyone know if she came out with any other products for Dior?
