With all due respect to Tod's and all the houses doing this type of proposition (in the end, tasteful and elegant), but we are entering one of the most boring eras in fashion.

I expect a little bit more pragmatism from a brand like Tod’s.
People are going to Tod’s for shoes and bags so the clothes should be simple but impactful enough and the styling should be pragmatic.

When it gets too fashion with layering and things like that, I’m lost.

Well maybe, they should try harder to have a distinctive voice.
And to have both is not impossible. Tomas Maier at BV did exactly that.
It was pragmatic but different enough to have a voice and be part of the fashion conversation. So much that when you compare the percentage of fashion compared to accessories in terms of sales, it was rather surprising.
