Hi! Thanks for the pics!
I love love love the prints and the short dresses.
Is is possible for you to provide where does Toga show (as in whichh city? NY? Tokyo?). As per the forum guidelines that information must go in the title.
toga used to do runways earlier (as far as I remember until around 2004) but these days only lookbook release and presentation in tokyo and paris
most of the time the only way to see anything from toga is through look-book or showroom visits.
i must say, being a long-time fan of toga, this is probably the very first time that i'm rather disappointed by one of her collections. it's not terrible but i don't feel the full toga effect. generally her work is so strong...consistently so.
^ I know how you feel, Scott, I checked this out a couple days ago and felt kind of indifferent to it.. so much that I didn't even feel like commenting, I thought she's already been (slowly) going downhill since the last few seasons..
I took a careful look to this again though, and it's grown on me considerably.. I think the styling is awful and the direction continues to be too commercial (the leopard part is scary-looking) and the concept is also overexposed, but I think the clothes are still above average, they almost look as sharp and balanced (plastic shapes vs. easy-to-wear appeal) as Peter Pilotto's last collection.. and certainly much more successful than what Nicholas has been trying to accomplish at Balenciaga.
Her skirts are spectacular as always, imo. And the coat at the end is also quite lovely, a bit reminiscent of CDG S/S 07, but simpler..
Awesome, runner! (and thanks for the tip, I had no idea! My apologies )
I havent been checking Toga's previous collections (as you may imagine) but the layering and construction seems a bit ... sloppy?
