If there is a thread of this kind already, I'm sorry. Other than that, what do you guys think? Since I just saw Stick It, with a friend, I'm pretty inspired to dress more casual and laid back. I always have felt this way, just no this storongly. It's kinda nice to dress down and not fuss over all of these girly things. Throw on something casual and get out there! So, what do you guys think?

i adore tomboys! and have tomboyish tendancies. but you might want to check out the androgyny thread here

I have always loved girls who are tomboys.

There is some overlap with the androgyny thread, but that is focused more on fashion and models; when I think of tomboys, I think of girls and women who are up for any rough-and-tumble adventure, and are always as feminine as they want to be, even when they are wearing jeans, tee shirts and sneakers and carving through downtown on their skateboards late at night.

kween, please provide a credit for your picture. Great idea for a thread, thank you! :flower:

I'm kind of a Tomboy I must admit:blush: Not extremely..but some. I think now it comes from the fact that I've been really sick for over a year after having my tonsils out and have gained weight. Not so comfortable with my body so baggy clothes (i.e. jeans and hoody swearshirts about everyday) worked to cover it up. At this point I'm in that every single day cause I'm sick and out of school (for 4 months so far..and the rest of the school year).

..or maybe it's rooted from the fact that in preschool when I didn't let my mom do anything with my lonnng locks that she cut them off and I looked like a Beatle. Always felt like one of the boys back then lol!

Next year I'll make a fashion comeback though I promise.

^Aww, get better!
Oh, forgot. The pic is from hollywood.com
Yeah, I just love not caring about what to wear, just throwin something on and being careless. I think the world has become the opposite of careless. I mean, who the hell cares about what hey think? I don't mean like swear at every person you see, cause that is just plain rude. But who cares if the 'coolest' girl in your school gives you a dirty look for looking the way you feel, she's fake anyway.
My problem is, I love the style, i just don't have the lifestyle. I don't play ANY sports, (thanks, mom) and don't do any dancing or anything either (thanks dad.) I am hobbyless, and the last time I touched a skateboard, i almost had to get stitches on my chin (face+concrete=not good.) I am actually sad about that. I wanna do something, skateboard, lax, anything, I just can't... sad, i know...

Time to bring back an older topic. I think I'd classify as a tomboy, to an extent. I can't get away with being "sloppy" at work now so much, but I have done so at previous jobs. I love to be comfortable as much as possible. And I relate to what you were saying about not having the correct lifestyle to go along with the athletic-style clothing - I feel weird wearing certain things since I'm not really all that sporty. But hey, it's only clothes.

i'm kind of, considering the fact i just look wrong in dresses and skirts due my boyish/still-sporty figure. i'd never go with athletic or sporty wear like running shoes etc though. slightly differing from my male collegues by wearing some more feminine tops and sometimes scarves, the rest is baggy jeans, flat sandals, big watches...

I think it looks really nice when it's worn with lighter or 'feminine' colours :D

I was watching Miss Congeniality a long time ago and there were some kids in the first scene with really cool clothes. Sandra Bullock was a kid in this scene--her style was super neat, and so were the boys she hung out with in the scene. I think their clothes would also look cool on girls (ripped denim vests, shorts, etc.)
