I found some goregeous shoes on sale, and had to have them. Sadly, they are half a size too big, and in wide. Not only do they slide off my feet, but I get terrible blisters and bruises from them.
So, what would you advise to make these fit a little better and more comfortably? (I love these shoes....black patent leather with white trim. )

I had the same problem with one pair of my shooes, but after I bought some inserts it got much better! (These where round toe pumps, I'm not sure how it wood look in open ones...)

wear them with thick grey opaque socks/stockings for winter!

^ I actually went back to this thread to say she could use thick socks as well but I see I was a little late  Here's an example with a pair of scrunchy thigh high socks, these pumps are actually a bit big, but fit me perfect when wearings socks:

Footpetals makes a product called Killer Kushions that will take up quite a bit of room.

I LOOOOVE THE PIC ABOVE! ^^^^^^ Cute look

Yes, get inserts for the back of them. Something like this: http://www.drscholls.com/product.aspx?prodid=32

I bought a beautiful pair of leather pumps last week, and though they were killer tight in the store the leather stretched in a matter of hours and I couldn't walk in them! I hobbled to a drug store to buy the above inserts and they worked wonderfully.

If your shoes are still too big, they would seem to be condusive to layering a couple on top of each other.

I have this problem as well! I tried the shoe inserts and thick socks but they still fall off. Maybe thick tights?

yeah most of my pumps have them to at least protect my feet. btw, I found the CVS brand work wonderfully as well. They are totally the same, but only cost $1.99 :woot:

ingvildel, that looks great. I'll try some huge scrunchy socks.

Thanks for the suggetsions, everyone! I have hope of wearing those shoes after all. :D

What about Suggestions for flats which are too big??

I just bought these flats in 36, which fit me fine only when I'm walking slow. I think I might be a 35.5 in flats. I have tried half insoles, but by raising the height of the sole, it causes blisters because of the constant rubbing against the shoe.

TIA

try a full insole and heal grips they reduce the shoe by half a size. Are your feet still growing though ?? as if they are its really bad to use them.

As someone who works fitting kids shoes( ok so were not kids but same rules apply)

ill fitting shoes can cause so many problems, from posture and back pain to muscle problems in the legs, as well as bone problems, corns, bunions, ingrowning toe nails etc. seriously they can really mess your feet up. Shoes that are too big are just as bad as those that are too small if not worse.

I put in the Dr. Scholls "open toe" inserts in all of my shoes. I am a size 5 and everythign ends up too big on my feet which is really really bad. These have helped so much!

Tia, I think my feet are all grown now. I've been at that size for the last 4 years. Have small feet is so troublesome!! And thanks for the suggestion ojodeazul, I think I'll look into those Dr. Scholls. Hopefully they'll help!!

But I think part of the problem is the way I walk. My toes always gravitate towards the front of the shoe, so that they are all...um, cramped together. It's really hard to explain, but it means that my toes stick out when I wear mules...

Karma, both of you! :flower:

Hope the insoles really give you some help, and the help with sweaty feet and slip as well. They have been a life saver to me.
