NEW YORK, January 14, 2008 – Tory Burch served up a delicious cocktail for pre-fall, with a recipe that was equal parts Palm Beach (terrycloth, anyone?) and sixties sizzle (A-line dresses and patent trim), with an extra splash of spice from the East. Ikats, batiks, and tie-dyes were cut into classic preppy silhouettes inspired by Babe Paley and Jackie O. in Formentera and Provence. And it wouldn't be a Tory collection without embellishments, so Burch brightened easy jacquard dresses with a touch of gold, strung mariner tops with beads, and added pretty openwork details to festive print tops. Cheers.

Suburban housewives of the world rejoice...

 It's very....unflattering to me. Maybe it's just the model but all these dresses make her look WIDE.

seems a little matronly or ill-fitting... but there are some interesting pieces

Very Hamptons. I can see a certain sort of woman just adoring this. For me its too much print and too much 1960s vacation wear. There are a couple of outfits that look good though - the yellow dress and the white/cream printed dress are very nice but two nice dresses doesn't really make for a good collection.

The love bird bag is very cute - I can see that catching on.

Also, none of these outfits screams fall or even pre-fall to me. These all seem like summer clothes. I know that pre-fall gives a designer some leeway in that department but these seem like things you'd wear on holiday. Very spring summer.
