Totally clueless - need an answer

Hey guys,

Can someone please tell me if men's dress shirtd needs to be washed before wearing (it's folded in plastic) or can you just wear it right from the package....

I have no idea about these things, boyfriend thinks it needs to be washed first and I sooo don't feel like having to iron it after. ugh.

Need an answer asap.

my hubs wears it straight from the package
if the creases are severe, he'll iron it out.

some folks want to wash it first, to remove any possible chemical residues
AND in case the makers touched them with their fingers... you know... koodies and all.

i'm totally NOT that type!

I don't think that you need to wash it first, but my boyfriend insists. He has a theory that they have chemicals on them that are not good for you.
