i really like their concept and while some of their shoe designs are a bit too 'alternative' (for lack of a better word) for my taste, they still have a few very nice things each season...Trippen offers shoes that express an individuality not to be found in the traditional mass market. Shoes that when hand made, would simply be too expensive to afford. Trippen's interest lies in the constant movement towards designing innovative, thoughtful and endurable shoes. Endurable not only with regard to quality, but also within the rapidly changing face of fashion. Through unique cuts, simple forms and recognisable silhouettes, that have become like a trademark, Trippen has managed to outlive whims and trends to establish its own niche within the industry. Shoes that stand the test of time and develop into classics. Favourite shoes.

For over 10 years Angela Spieth and Michael Oehler have been making themselves familiar with everything in and around shoes. The shoemaker Michael Oehler experimented with the boundaries of traditional shoemaking, while at the same time producing customised shoes for the discerning individual and for film and theater. The designer Angela Spieth gathered her broad experience from the 4 corners of the world, working as freelance designer and advisor for many big-name shoe firms. This experience gave her the know-how to pursue her own innovative ideas.

In 1992 while pottering around an old lasts factory, the two discovered wooden soles from the Seventies.
This proved to be the inspiration that would start the adventure Trippen. The first Trippen collection was presented in a Berlin art gallery and consisted of 60 wearable and non-wearable wooden shoes. The collection was a success and the shoes were ordered by many well known designers for their catwalk shows. Since then Trippen has developed many commercial and experimental collections, such as the Closed, Cham, Cups, Sandals, Penna, Kids and Bag collections.
