too busy for me.. i don't quite like how some of the clothes fit/hang as well

I love how horrible it is. There's something charming and redeeming about how off center the collection seems. I'd bet the farm the effects were done purposely. This girl she's dressing is faux but charmingly eccentric. She always knows where those great hidden bars are, she always has an extra smoke on her. She's romantic but not mushy...a little careless, a lot of fun.

How old is Tsumori? How long has he been around? Would you guys say he is a new designer?

im 99% sure chisato is a woman and she designed for issey miyake right after graduating from bunka fashion college in 1976, and started her own standalone brand in 1989 i believe...

in other words, a while. :flower: of course, i dont think the line has been shown in paris for very long, though...

Tsumori Chisato is one of Issey's design studio accolytes , like Naoki Tazikawa , and he has now set her up with her own label .

She is part of the vast Issey empire - A-net , which comprises all the Miyake ' diffusion ' lines :-

and is not to be confused with Kosuke Tsumora - the designer for FINAL HOME , another Issey offshoot :-

All the other top of the range Issey lines - Issey Miyake by Naoki Tazikawa , Me - Issey miyake , Haat , etc , have their own separate identity .

Hope this helps , M-O-M .

very interesting thread...thanks for all the pictures guys and thanks kit for that overview....had no idea issey's world was that big...i knew about some of it...but not all...

i will be watching for tsumori chisato in the future...nice use of colour and patterns...very refined...imo...:flower:

Thanks runner. I dont like the pieces from the mens line. The pants seem like they'd be ok though. esp the first pair in that pale almost pink color.

Hey guys, I'm 100% sure Tsumori Chisato is a woman ;)

Here's an excerpt on her from www.japantoday.com

Tsumori Chisato may be known for her flowing fabrics, colorful embroidery and cult following among fashion-conscious young women, but that's only half the story of her rise to the top of the Tokyo fashion world. A former protege of Issey Miyake, Tsumori has spent the past 20 years keeping a firm grip on the latest Japanese street trends, surrounding herself with talented people and putting in long hours at her atelier.
Hope that helps every body!! ^_^
