Tyrone Lebon’s photographs and films are rich and vital celebrations of the possibilities of contemporary life and image-making. Lebon began experimenting with analog photography and film as a teenager and his material and collage sensibility is present equally in both mediums. Lebon’s book—Nothing Lasts Forever—portrays the people and situations in his studio over the course of one year and expresses the deep intimacy of his portrait work. His capacity for creating intense visual experiences through photography is evident in his editorial work for magazines including Arena Homme +, Beat, Double, Garage, i-D, LOVE, The New York Times Style Magazine, POP, V, and Vogue UK. His advertising clients include Adidas, Celine, COS, H&M, GAP, Loewe, Nike, Stussy, Supreme, Topshop, and Louis Vuitton. Tyrone Lebon has created short films from the outset of his career. He has made compelling and original films - including Ut And The Life, commissioned by Channel 4, Atlanta Dreams and SFV Acid for Nokia and Sundance TV, and Modern Movement for Nike Women. Lebon has also made short films for Victoria Beckham, Fendi, H&M, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Martin Margiela. Lebon’s 30-minute film and forthcoming book project Reely and Truly is a remarkable meditation on the motivations of over twenty photographers, including Nigel Shafran, Mario Sorrenti, Juergen Teller, and Jack Webb. Lebon is also the founder and creative director of DoBeDo, the host and supporter of photographers and filmmakers exhibitions, books, and screening events.
