It feels like this magazine has watched UK Vogue capture attention with its cover choices, and UK Elle has decided it wants a slice of that pie, so every cover will now have some sort of 'talking point'.
I mean, if you truly wanted to be at the forefront of normalising models of all sizes, Alva would be on that cover without size being referenced, and in clothes that actually fit her. But instead, UK Elle has chosen to put out an image that isn't as glorious as it could be, and no doubt we're supposed to debate how we feel about what we see, when styling her better would probably leave people with nothing more to say than "nice cover!!" which doesn't bring UK Elle the attention it needs.
