UK Harper’s Bazaar February 2022 : Karen Elson by Erik Madigan Heck

LOL.

Seriously, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that *YOU* are literally the best thing happened to this community since Jul 14th, 2017 when my beloved @aracic decided to join us. Moreover, I'm thinking of collecting all your INGENIOUS posts from here and publish it someday, which would be a bestseller with no doubt!

 Not the blushing emoticon. This is literally me right now. Forever grateful for your kind words, @Zorka, and for the opportunity to learn from every member of our community. None of this could be possible without you, your dedication, your passion, and the personal touch you add to everything you do. You are indispensable, irreplaceable. :flower:

She looks frozen on the cover, i was hope than editorial would be better, but every photo is very simple.

Crazy about the color!

Charlotte and Valentina look beautiful!

Had the potential of being a stellar cover.

If not for that hideous makeup.

Flicking through this online, it's 158 pages, the new season Chanel campaign seems so cheap, the 'My Life, My Style' section features art collector Valeria Napoleone's west London home, and I'm really hoping the colours of the Karen Elson editorial stand out in print.

It's nice to see Valentina in the beauty section, without a magazine needing to pin all sorts of labels on her presence.

There are some reprints from US Bazaar in this issue - the article "Goodbye To All That", where Shala Monroque and Amanda Brooks recount 'loving and leaving the [fashion] industry - and then coming back on their own terms" and Tracee Ellis Ross's cover story from the November 2021 issue. I don't think I'd ever have much reason to buy US Bazaar these days, and certainly not if large portions of content are going to be reprinted in the British version.

I will always have admiration for a British fashion publication championing a British fashion model like Karen Elson but I am officially done with Erik Madigan Heck on autopilot and his over-saturated colouring (not to even mention the atrocious, clown-like and downright unforgivable makeup).

Also feels like British Harper's Bazaar is running on autopilot lately, and since this concept has been done a million times already, it immediately feels like a total non-event and I am becoming increasingly tired of British Bazaar's never-ending fascination with Erik Madigan bloody Heck.

However, those photographs of Charlotte Casiraghi feel like a total breath of fresh air and would've quite liked to have seen that first image as the cover (unconventional but fresh for February).

Absolutely. Sharp, sleek and effortlessly smouldering. Hints of Liz's/Fabien’s Bazaar peeking through in the style of photography and layout, with the promise of the lightness and slickness of spring warmth in a chilly winter issue. If only there were more of such sleekness in this issue.

The subscribers cover is not the same as the newsstand one - it's a variation on the opening shot of the editorial - excuse the dull colours of my snap, it's snowing and the light has gone entirely grey. Looking at it, it's more autumnal than spring-like, but I'm much happier to have this version.
