^ I was wondering the same thing, but I think Girls Aloud are reuniting or whatever later this year, so maybe they're trying to hype it up.
She's still relevant in the UK?
She has her own solo album out before then I believe, so it's probably tied into that.
I think due to the sort of levels she rose to in UK celebrity terms she's always going to be somewhat relevant. She was with X-Factor when it gained the highest figures, she sold countless magazines for various publications, not to mention selling a decent amount of music and all based on who she was. I don't think anyone's under any illusions that she's a musical icon, but I personally always found it interesting that it was her persona that made her such a huge part of our recent pop culture and not what she was doing as such.
