UK Marie Claire October 2012 : Blake Lively by Txema Yeste

Blake Lively leads the way...

but she looks so lost....

I wish the media would stop trying to make Blake Lively happen.

It's an odd one. I genuinely don't know of anyone interested in her. None of my female friends have the slightest inclination towards her. She's a really blah blonde to me personally.

At least it's a reprint of the other image, it's okay. Not that I'll buy it though, I have my latest Blake cover from German InStyle.

Even though it's a reprint and the same shot appears on the Australian MC cover - I like the cover as a whole. I really love the type and colours used.
I'm not a big fan of Blake, but she is gorgeous so her covers always work.

she looks perfect, love her  I like her style, her beauty and personality, the newsstands cover is great.

I got my subscription copy today (which is weird as I cancelled it two months ago, but hey, free magazines are always a plus) and inside is a Dolce & Gabbana ad for their new perfume... and it plays the film. As in, there's an actual TV screen on the page and when you open the magazine the music starts and it plays the TV commercial. That's the first time I've had that inside a magazine and it's UK Marie Claire?! I don't know if newsstand copies will carry it or not, but it's actually pretty darn cool.

Contents the same as usual like, but I'd happily pay £3.70 to have a TV screen inside my magazine anyday!

That sounds awesome. Does the October issue feature the shots of different actresses at London landmarks? I saw an article about it somewhere.

Yeah it does. Karen Gillan, Bonnie Wright, some of the Downton Girls and a few others are in it. But the TV ad is still the best bit. Ha.

Ow, I must see this Dolce & Gabbana feature inside the issue. I'm partial to what Blake Lively covers. I'm rooting for a British Elle appearance. And I'd die to see what Bazaar would do with her.. even Vogue.

With it being Gossip Girl's final season and Blake's movie choices not being all that amazing I think she may flounder slightly when it comes to landing covers. Unless she manages to attach herself to some better films.

You can't see too much in the photo but there's a double page spread of the ad and one page is very thick, when the magazine is opened to this page the TV screen begins to play the ad, along with sound - which is actually pretty loud. It plays the full TV ad. The quality of it is perfect as well. Not sure if the photograph does it justice..

My Snap

I find it strange they let Marie Claire be the first magazine to be photographed at these landmarks considering their selling figures aren't great. I hope the tv ad is in the newstands version.

If it had been Blake's Gucci ad, I would have been in heaven.

And that also would have made more sense. I actually do prefer her ad, so I'd have liked that also.

As a cover/advertising tie-in, it would have been perfect, so I'm surprised it wasn't her, but this is intriguing, I can't wait to actually see how it's been put into the page.
