UK Marie Claire October 2012 : Blake Lively by Txema Yeste

I find it strange they let Marie Claire be the first magazine to be photographed at these landmarks considering their selling figures aren't great. I hope the tv ad is in the newstands version.

The only newsstand issue I've seen so far was the travel-sized version, which didn't offer anything more exciting on that page than two perfume sample cards.

The full sized newsstand issue comes with the October issue of InStyle free with it.

I was looking forward to that, but so far, anywhere I've seen it for sale (supermarket and newsagents), it hasn't been bundled with any other magazine, and sadly, the full-sized newsstand issue doesn't have the video ad either, just the perfume samples on the page.

Its funny that people are wanting Marie Claire for an advert and not the content.
I think the ad is only in 10,000 or so issues, and most will be subscribers.
I havent seen the full size version sold solo. Only with InStyle.

Next month they have shot Taylor Swift for the cover. Odd choice?

If I could get my hands on that advert, I'd buy two copies of the magazine, one to keep intact for a while, and one to immediately take apart so I could see how it works, down to the last detail. The technology of it is far more fascinating to me than any fashion spread could be, even in the best of magazines.

But now that I know that it should also come with a free copy of InStyle, I'll probably never get around to buying it, because I'll feel cheated if I never see any of these things with the copies on sale near me.

I agree, that ad is seriously cool, and i would do the same, never buy the magazine anymore, but i would for that alone!

In a UK first, Marie Claire has featured the new Dolce & Gabanna film in an advert in our new issue.

Page 35 of Marie Claire's October issue (with Blake Lively on the cover) features a 45-second video shot by none other than Mario Testino.

The sumptuous film for Dolce&Gabbana Pour Femme and Pour Homme is set in a village square in southern Italy. During a wedding party, a girl, played by Laetitia Casta, lets her mind wander and fantasises about her lover, Noah Mills (well who wouldn't?).

As the first UK glossy to have used the ground-breaking technology, we've been obsessing over this clever little vid here at MC HQ for some time.

They are getting a lot of UK firsts this issue. I wonder what has made them choose Marie Claire.

Marie Claire gave D&G the pages for free. No other publications would give them the free ad pages, or foot the cost of the added implications. The subscription copies didn't come in the plastic bag as normal, each one was delivered in a separate large envelope to project it. Marie Claire will have footed the cost for that.

The other 'UK FIRST' of shooting people in and around London isnt that exclusive.

Oh that makes sense. I hope that works out for them sale figure wise.
