UK Vogue November 2006 : Mischa Barton by Regan Cameron

BEAUTIFUL Ed's!!!
i'm gonna buy this issue for sure,
thx truebluejen for the scans :flower:

The covers ok, abit summery though.

The editorials are really good though.

Although I don' t get Jeisa' s appeal, the clean slate edit is quite stunning and i must admit she looks quite good in it :flower:

Thanks again TBJ!

This issue is fantastic, as Vogue always is! :woot: I adore Mischa, and the editorials are beautiful! Thanks for the scans, truebluejen! :flower:

WHAT?? what's the link btw Vogue Editors and Politics?

No, not politics. I was meaning that these are both bad pairings of a bad leader followed by a leader licking the more powerful leader's -well, you know what. Bush and Blair are leaders of USA and UK. Anna Wintour is one of the "leaders" of American fashion world, and Alexandra Shulman is the same for UK fashion world. Alexandra Shulman gets that the formula of Vogue US makes money, and she wants to get a piece of that herself, as Blair wants to get a piece from Bush's politics (aka oil aka money).

I hope you understand what I mean, this is a pretty messy statement.

I can't wait for the Knight Vision ed... but NO-- MISCHA DOES NOT DESERVE THIS. Nicole Richie deserved her Vogue Italia cover more than Mischa does for UK!!! She's just a teen queen. At least Scarlett, who is a serious actress, deserved it.

So what is Nicole? She was on a reality show that I'm sure didn't even screen in Italy. So why does she deserve to have a cover over Mischa.

I haven't got anything against Nicole but Mischa has been acting since she was a child. She had a hit tv show and is now doing movies. The fact that she went to acting classes this year which you don't see alot of others doing shows that she's serious about her craft and wants to improve her acting. I think that's great.

Your never going to please everyone about who's on the cover. The important thing to me is what's inside.

I don't want to pay money to read dribble and look at crap pictures.

If she was on the cover again, I am definately e-mailing them to complain:doh: Other models do exist! Better ones too:rolleyes:

A prompt subscription issue was waiting for me at home this month... with a laidback feel, as if they're saving all the drop-dead glamour for next month's special issue, so instead we get a magazine filled with atmospheric landscapes and a misty autumnal feel (though last night's consumption of Irish whiskey during perusal of this issue might have added to that impression).

I love British Vogue, it's probably my favorite among all Vogue's, however they vary rarely do all out glamour, the fact that it's the more streetwise, practical edition is probably the reason it's my favorite but I wouldn't mind if every once in a while they had an all out glamour leave practicality at the door type of issue. Hopefully they'll do that for their 90th.

British Vogue should however real try to fierce up their covers in general really. I was at Iconography going through the cover archive and I realize how few of their covers are actually really eyecatching. They seem to all be just O.K. take this year's covers for example some of them were nice at first glance but they all seem to fade fast from memory, which imo is a recurring theme with their covers. My advice: Give us more Glamourous covers while keeping the content the same and every once in a while throw in an issue of fierce glamour, like for March/Sept. which this year both dissappointed because instead of giving us something new they just gave us more of the same with a few more edits.

Would someone create HQ version of the Freja ed? I really like the background, but it could be better if it adds a little more autumn flavor.

I know as much as i like Kate, i really really want a Lily Cole cover!! They havent used her as an individual yet.

This issue is pretty good from what I've seen flicking through the magazine some beautiful ads and editorials. The next issue looks great though, its having some sort of top 100 list in it if i am thinking correctly? :flower:

I think I'm going to puke here, I agree the word deserve is def out of place here.Misha is just a Mickey mouse actress and suddenly became v popoular because she wears cool clothes? that’s how celebrities are gaining fame nowadays by either going out with an already famous person , example Sienna miller, did u ever hear about her before jude law? then she gained same sort of serious actress thing Misha has now, by appearing in vogue etc…
But my point is that she is just “in the click “ now she’s popular because of the clothes she wears and all that crap. She certainly doesn’t “deserve” it.
 Unfortunately, you're so true, IMO... Pretty boring issue as a whole, too...
