Love this collection... very inventive. Designer Jun Takahashi continues the one-off, hand-worked look of the pieces in the collection and uses the best colors.

A bit of a glamor (though bag-lady, it may be) detour from the Mad-Max warrior styling vibe of the Spring 2003 show but a great result in my opinion. Very in sync too with the Dries van Noten collection for Fall 2003 (minus the bag lady part).

You like? :innocent:

You know what? I actually really dig it.

I love how sui generis and obscure it was. Some of the pieces reminded me of Junya Watanabe's fall collection, which everyone knows I would die for. There's something very raw about the hems and the different textures that just makes me weak.

Thanks for the excellent review and pics. :flower:

I think the first set of pictures was the best work, the other clothes I don't like

OMG what is this? all these colors and these flowy cuts??? i doubt its to a womans bodys advantage

TOKYO — Whereas most designers emphasized the feminine, flower prints and white at their 2002 spring-summer collections as if to reflect calm and peace in the wake of the Sept 11 terror attacks in the U.S., it seems Harry Potter had a hand in influencing the 2002-2003 autumn-winter collection.

At least, that's the way it seemed at Jun Takahashi's show for his Under Cover label. A witch was there, casting a spell on everyone. It was mysterious and illusory with colors and designs unified under the theme of witchcraft.

Models appeared with unusual make-up — black lace paint on their faces and long black unkempt hair, which created a deep ambience. Ornamental stars, pin-point toe shoes, braided knitted rope belts and long black mantles were the favored accessories, as were witch and bat print motifs. Color combinations were mainly green and gray, as well as brown and black. Each color had a synergistic effect in creating a witch world.

 I was confused there for a second,
but that article's written about last Fall's collection.
Maybe these are kinda witchy from this collection.

I'm thinking... wait, there was too much color!

You keep changing your posts.

I wondered why it was with last year's Yohji review.

There are a few individual pieces here and there that I like (and I'm with you on the gloves, Tealady)...those furry shaggy sweaters are a bit yucky though, they make me think of a bath mat.

I like the colors, and the bottoms better than the tops.
The whole paper doll look--different.
And I like the gloves, too!

Yay! :P It's heartening to guage such a positive response to
the gloves. Such a "finished" well-appointed look, ¿no? :zorro:

:order: Very civil... :king:

I agree! How I long for the return of hats and gloves and a polished look!!

I love undercover so much such amazing work he is doing keeping the japanies avant garde sprit alive along side Junya Watanabe
