UNDERCOVER will be the special guest at the next edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo that will be held in Florence from 16 to 19 June 2009.

Japanese designer Jun Takahashi, the mind behind the Undercover brand, will present the world premiere of his menswear Collection S/S 2010 in an exceptional location in Florence with a performance starring his unmistakable style. This is the first time that Undercover will be shown in Italy.
One of the biggest names on the international stage, and now under the spotlights shining on Parisian fashion week, Undercover is known for his look that starts from an authentic Japanese street fashion and develops into an evocative and oneiric presentation centered on emotions. Street rules and the punk rock mentality of an entire generation of Tokyo’s youths are reinterpreted in a sweeping couture vision based on experiments with proportions and innovative lines and daring shapes that bring new life to the classic items in a basic wardrobe.

Born in 1969, Jun Takahashi is carrying on with his contemporary poetics that are interwoven with conceptual insight by combining different means of expression. The distinctive features of his look include references to art and music, doll-making, furniture design and his cooperation with other, world-famous designers.

YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

sorry for the childish exuberance, there  this is quite exciting for us. i hope in it,it will be as forward and 'designed' as his women's and less emphasised on street culture like his undecoverism for men.

i dunno...i like some things especially the tailored stuff and the cool lab-style coats and the prints but it doesn't bowl me over with sheer excitement. and if i may be so bold...it kind of reminds me of prada sport with undercover overtones.

The word “punk” is often used to describe Jun Takahashi’s collections for Undercover, albeit of the polite Japanese variety. And last night the designer was at his most rebellious as he presented his spring 2010 men’s collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence. Titled Less But Better, and inspired by legendary industrial designer Dieter Rams, the show was a surreal affair, with models snaking through Boboli Gardens in stark, pared-down clothing, giant backpacks and visor shades that put a futuristic twist on the all-gray, minimalist looks. The eerie vibes continued at the after-show performance, where, accompanied by a Japanese noise band, Takahashi took to making his “Grace” dolls. The contorted, freakish toys make Chucky look like your boy next door.

seriously ?
not sure this review really echoes what i see ...
:ninja:

Some of this seems a little derivative (the brown leather accents, Prada, and the opening white looks, Simons) but it looks pretty solid altogether. The pieces with the water print are beautiful, and I love the laser cut details and the eyewear/masks/whatever. The whole Dieter Rams inspiration seems a little superficial, though.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the setting, which is amazing. Shame it's so difficult to show outdoors, the results can be pretty amazing.
