Something is really weird about her body, and I suspect photoshop has a lot to do with it.

Most of the time, people on fashion magazine covers are better-looking than me. I don't know what to think when they aren't.

UGH. Terrible cover shot, and I'm sure she's lovely but she's not exactly photogenic. I also don't love when fashion magazines go overly political, but I'll reserve judgment until I read the story.

I think it´s a great cover for someone who´s not an actress/singer/model. I like the styling and the desk touch, they give her a "powerful woman" vibe that it´s nice to see on women´s magazines, fashion or not. The layout is the only thing I don´t like here...

Don't think she's traditionally beautiful by any stretch of the imagination, but why should she have to be? Most people aren't. Men's magazines like GQ or Esquire feature men on them who are chosen for reasons other than how they look. Why shouldn't women's magazines do the same?

I don't really know much about her, but of course she's incredibly famous here in the US, so I'd be interested to read about her. I applaud Elle for doing something different, even if the timing is politically convenient to the max. What's next, Hillary Clinton on Vogue's "Age Issue" in August?

Probably Michael Thompson shot this? While she's certainly no oil painting, she's got a likeable personality at least. The styling looks too generic and I dont see a 'power woman' on this cover. Wonder how this will perform.

Paola Kudacki is the photographer I believe.

I really like this! Maybe it's because I'm bias about the Clinton's! Anyway, I don't like the stiff pose but regardless, she looks good!

One thing though, recent Elle covers are starting to look alike no? Dark backgrounds, gloomy styling

T H I S. Pretty much.

I wouldn't mind purchasing that issue...

I'm all for these recent unexpected cover choices (Serena for Vogue and now Chelsea)
The generic actresses and social media chanteuses get old quick.

OK, so Chelsea gets a cover just about her mom get ready to announce her presidential nomination.

I imagine it runs beyond that, maybe they'll touch on her own career. Do agree with you though, this is exceptionally random for Elle.

A woman of substance on the cover, i cant complain about that! Even if the cover shot could be better, i like this shift in cover girls we are getting less predictable cover subjects, and its wonderful.

So boring and everything looks awkward.

i truly used to love this magazine. the content was interesting. now, it is nothing at all.

Will go from my mailbox to my garbage can in record speed

What is the difference with an actress on the cover promoting a movie? at least politics is something that matters more than entertaining.

She´s heavily involved in charity, isn´t she? that could be something she´d talk about...

Not the most exciting cover subject, but I do like the styling a lot.
