Barry’s select should have been the cover. Stellar shot of a formidable talent that will only become a stronger and stronger presence in cinema in time. And Norman Jean Roy photographs him to a resemblance of a young Tom Bringer when he was so handsome. Barry has that sort of face that, not only can he look like a 15yo— but a very homely and dumpy 15yo. Here he’s one handsome fcuker. I get why they went for Post Malone since apparently Americans love him:shrugs: …At least Norman shoots him to look like Maluma…
Too bad the art direction is the usual irritation of collage template layout that reduces Norman’s cinematic, even painterly compositions to the impact of thumbnails. There’s a gorgeous shot of Post Malone by a moody seashore with the waves coming against him, and he’s wearing a cape. It’s epic. And it’s crammed into a layout that instantly diminishes the power of such a vision.
One lone and utterly forgettable fashion story by Jennifer Livingston, that looks like rejected test shots shot by the corner alcove of the studio. And again, that goddamn thumbnail layout of cramming in as many shots into a spread as possible. 182pgs.
