US GQ May 2022 : Future by Gregory Harris

Honestly I’ve had these same absurd but ‘profound’ conversations with myself while driving to his music (is he the best? lol) and…. I don’t disagree. Find me at rush hour and I’ll say he’s the best, that no one comes close, that he’s here to make our lives better and more productive.. and can’t wait for this phase to be over.

He looks good in that cover.

Great styling, boring pose and lazy layout = GQ version 2020's.

I tought Kanye was considered the best rapper alive

Like the minimal style, but I can't believe this gonna be global. He's barely known here.

If we're going to name names, thee best rapper in the industry is Miss Onika Tanya Maraj Petty and that's that on that! Lovely cover tho.

Not my favorite, but it’s an improvement over the past couple covers, so that’s something.

For those who don't listen to his music, he's probably best known in pop-culture as the father of SEVEN children with SEVEN different women, most notably Ciara.

^^^ Don’t care if he continues on to his 88th child with the 88th woman. As long as he takes care of those children as a father and financially, it’s all good.

Oops, it looks like I was wrong and he actually has a child with 8 different women. I'm sure there's the financial aspect has been mandated by the courts, but I can't imagine it's possible to be a very present father to 8 different kids in 8 different households spread throughout the country. If he's involved, that means he essentially has 8 different families - and he's still in his 30s! Highly, highly unlikely he's what most would consider a good father. I don't know all the details but I believe he's somewhat infamously a bad father, according to some of the mothers involved.

LOL

I guess he’s a prize to some women… Kind of unfortunate that Ciara is one of them, but her choice and all that. At least your mum is Ciara.

This is the best rapper alive?
They did him dirty! that song sounded so stupid there  .. just.. play it while heading to work, it does whatever it’s meant to do!

I didn’t know that, KoV.. that’s gross (not the # with different women, just the # and the fact that he so obviously does not wear protection.. )

And your stepdaddy is Russell Wilson. I know I'd be acting up.

They should listen to Hayley Kiyoko's Curious and re-evaluate their caption for Future.

It's an okay cover. It reminds me of Asap Rocky's GQ cover a few months ago.

I have never heard someone call Future the best rapper alive… ever. And when your fanbase is quite literally called “FutureHive” (in comparison to “BeyHive”, which, you know, actually makes sense), and you have a parallel track record to Nick Cannon in the baby department, there becomes a lot more than a headline on a magazine cover to unpack. The cover itself is okay. Nothing spectacular, but something different from what one usually sees of him, and it works well.

When your title is given by a magazine that has no authority on a subject, it sounds like firecrackers…
Maybe they were too afraid to give him the « stylish or fashionable » title.

He looks good and is charismatic. I’m surprised that for someone that invested in fashion, he hasn’t done a Pharrell/ASAP Rocky…Aka prostitute himself for a contract.

For the best rapper, I think Kendrick Lamar is deserving of that title.

When I think of the best rappers, I think of the past. Not the Future.

As usual, nothing about this issue was interesting save for the feature on José Andres's World Central Kitchen efforts in Ukraine.
Also, Mobolaji Dawodu is no longer in the staff masthead, he's now the fashion director at large. Anybody know why he left?
