US GQ September 2023 : Pharrell Williams by Fanny Latour-Lambert

I was just sorting through older issues of magazines I had, and came upon his last GQ cover from 2019, and tossed it immediately. Likely this one will hit the bin much sooner.

I don’t know what’s worst, the typo or the pic

"Descends". How appropriate for the direction his music and this magazine has gone.

This is why they say magazine business is dying. Look at this tragic mess. Seriously, LVMH should have just launched their own magazine at this point. Cringe.

I've thought for awhile that eventually LVMH will just buy a few mags from Condé Nast (Vogue, GQ) and turn them into straight up catalogs for their brands. It would be a drop in the bucket for them, financially.

I like his music a lot, but never a fan of his work in fashion. Him and Styles has the worst taste in clothing. His L'uomo black and white cover was the only time I enjoy his presence.

It's crazy how this magazine produce a good cover story (Jeremey Strong, Ryan Goslin) and in between their covers has zero fashion appeal or no taste.

What I'm getting is hallucinations because of coke.

But it has a great color palette, regardless of how absurd it is.

I like Fanny in general, but she's better as a local French photographer, doing personal work.
Everything about this cover is hideous.

Pharrell is an awful person (ask Kelis), with an outsized ego, tinged with desperation.
He's the perfect choice for an issue dedicated to hype.

well... we've reached a new level, a new point where it's blatantly all by and for the advertiser. jesus

Still? I was surprised to see this and see her name. I didn't know she was doing s*it photography now but to be honest, I haven't really seen what she's done for the past 10 years, maybe it's been a gradual decline.

Love how Pharrell, 50 and all, is what makes corporate fashion feel young, the 'pinnacle' of all things hip lmao.

He looks like an evil dictator in a vintage James Bond movie who just splashed his coke all over.
