Katie's on the spring fashion issue. The cover and some photos were shown on Good Morning America this morning. She looked stunning.

A lunch and an interview (Liz Smith)

It pays to socialize - or it did for the chief of Harper's Bazaar - one Glenda Bailey, a Brit who has become very American over the past 10 years, as she has shepherded the Hearst fashion magazine to prosperity. Its newsstand sales have increased, and it has grown by 30 percent.

The editor in chief was in Paris in October having dinner at Baccarat with Victoria Beckham and her very good friend Katie Holmes. Glenda suggested that Katie pose for a Bazaar cover and Victoria be the fashion stylist for her pal, the relatively new Mrs. Tom Cruise. Now it has all paid off.

There's Katie looking glorious on the March cover, as clicked by Peter Lindbergh. This is Katie's first interview since her big wedding in Italy, but I'm afraid if you are expecting any inside revelations from Katie, as told to writer Sarah Bailey, you'll be disappointed. She says things like, "I feel very lucky. I have a husband and children that I adore. I have a career that I really love. When I sit back and reflect, it's - wow! I am very grateful. Tom makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and has since the day I met him. I love being with him. I love calling him husband."

Well, what do you expect of a 28-year-old new mother married to a movie legend and still basking in the glow of her honeymoon?

Why does she have to be on the cover let alone the March issue which is always the biggest and most exciting issues?

hmmmm...could be interesting...Katie is quite beautiful.

I'll probably end up buying it....

Me too....why couldn't they follow in Vogue UK's lead and put a model on there :p

Actually I'm not that dissappointed by the cover choice, by this point it seems useless to even hope for a model on the cover of Bazaar so I guess I'll settle for someone new and not someone who's been on a billion covers in the last couple of months, like their Feb. cover girl, Drew. Hopefully Lindberg will shoot something good.

i love it she look great ! ^_^

hm, she doesn't even look that bad on the cover, however it's a bit dull they actually choose her for the big march issue....

The interview is probably going to be, "I love Tom, I love him, I love him, he's great, he's fantastic, I'm so happy............................"

Katie Holmes dishes it in the March 2007 issue of Harper’s Bazaar as photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Check for it on newsstands starting Feb. 20. Here are some choice excerpts from Katie’s interview:
  • On how great life is: “I feel very lucky. I have a husband and children that I adore. I have a career that I really love. When I sit back and reflect, it’s - wow! I am very grateful. Tom makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and has since the day I met him. I love being with him. I love calling him husband.”
  • On her first date with Tom: “Here in Los Angeles, my first motorcycle ride…to the beach. It was amazing and fast. I was in love from the moment that I shook his hand for the first time.”
  • On motherhood: “I felt so proud to be having a baby and so excited. And I felt closer to other women-to my sisters, to my mom. I felt empowered, like ‘I’ve given birth. I did it! There’s nothing I can’t handle… I’ve really enjoyed this time that I have taken to be with Suri as well as the challenges of the first couple of months: feeding and pumping, learning to decipher what each cry means-is she hungry? Is she tired? Does she need a fresh diaper? And figuring out how to really help her.”
  • On her career: “I have a whole new set of responsibilities. My work is very important to me. My family is very important to me. When I go to work, it will be the right thing, worth my time and worth my time away from my family.”

Blah blah blah...but she looks fantastic in that white dress against that blood red couch ^_^
