US Harper's Bazaar October 2025 : Mona Tougaard by Luis Alberto Rodriguez

Thankfully Mona is the only thing that can salvage this mess of a shoot. What exactly was the concept here? The hair/makeup are lovely though...

Some shots are really good. However I'll always remember her as the anti vax girl

I am Obsessed with this new US Harper's Bazaar cover. Mona looks absolutely incredible! I love her hair, makeup, outfit, and all the colors from the masthead down to her pants. I also love the styling in the editorial because it is a young and fun mix. I will be getting a newsstand copy for sure!

Regarding Mona's smile: It is not the prettiest that I've seen but it is all hers.

the last look is a crime to the eyes....well Nazario also was benefit by using the race card...he has some hits yes...but most are misses...

As if his peers haven't benefited from the same thing 🙄. Not sure why that was necessary to bring up. You don't like his work. Move on. Otherwise, keep that same energy for the palm colored folks every time you don't like something.

Nazario's styling is atrocious here.

I get what he's doing here, and I don't hate it.

I'm just ALL for seeing models on the covers of mainstream fashion titles, so I'm very much here for this. Mona looks great and is serving... something. I love the long and luscious hair, the styling from Carlos Nazario and just how classic everything feels. It's not breaking new ground but also doesn't promise to. I'm a fan!

I would say that Mona is definitely among the top 5 working models at this current point in time, but that doesn't mean she's versatile. Whoever is convincing her it's a good idea to smile is simply being a bad friend/colleague! I know Carlos was probably going for a "supermodel" vibe with the smiley shots but it's just...a no. I do think Mona has improved editorially. Despite an initial onslaught of Meisel collaborations after her breakout moment at the end of the last decade, it seemed to take her a long time to really strengthen her print skills which should usually be an automatic after working with him. She'll never be dynamic but I've enjoyed several of her recent stories, especially the one for D with MAS.

Some models should be limited to the runway. Mona is great on the runway, but the same isn't reflected in her print work!
I'm all for models on covers, but I have to agree. She's a great and versatile runway model, yet she just doesn't have that "it" factor in print. It's great that she's scored many campaigns, but even there, she kind of falls flat and is far from being a chameleon.
