As if the highest standards in casting, creatives, and fashion designs weren’t enough, some of these campaigns received such premium collateral presentation in publications, it really brought the brand’s retail experience to the pages of a magazine. For those wondering WTF are the images so greyed out and why there’s a grey/silver thumbnail included in the campaign, it’s because the greyed pages are printed on either transparent mylar and the grey is a silver-foil cardstock, or it’s printed on silver foil cardstock. In Arena Hommes+’s A/W 99 issue, the Gucci campaign had 2 heavy cardstock double-sided pages, with the centre spread consisting of metallic cardstock and transparent mylar overlay on a metallic cardstock, so that the image of the trio gave a slight 3D effect. To say that campaign presentations have regressed 25 years later-- is too polite an understatement.
